Abstract: A high performance capability assessment model helps an energy industry business meet the challenges of the global marketplace. As a result, the energy industry business can achieve the clarity, consistency, and well-defined execution of core processes that reduce inefficiencies and waste that result from unnecessary process complexity and exceptions. In addition, the high performance capability assessment model helps the energy industry business to identify specific areas in which improvements may be made and understand how to make the improvements, and establishes levels of capability along the way to reaching an ultimate capability goal.

Abstract: A user collaboration system providing for the efficient utilization of an organization's resources, such as the bandwidth associated with call center activity. At the same time, the user collaboration system enables users to quickly and easily receive help in a particular subject matter area, without requiring the user to know who within the organization may be able to provide that assistance. The user collaboration system also maintains an organization's user profile information that tracks employee subject matter expertise and allows users to request assistance from an anonymous expert. The assistance may be provided via a collaboration session which may be optimized based on available network resources.

Abstract: A mechanism for securely transmitting credentials to instantiated virtual machines is provided. A central server is used to turn on a virtual machine. When the virtual machine is turned on, the central server sends it a secret text string. The virtual machine requests the credentials from the central server by transmitting the secret string and its instance ID. The central server validates the secret string and source IP to determine whether they are authentic. Once verified, the central server transmits the credentials to the virtual machine in a secure channel and invalidates the secret string. The credentials can now be used to authenticate API calls.

Abstract: Among other things, processing an incoming message stream includes storing context data of an application in a global database. Various messages from the incoming message stream are placed in an in-memory message queue. One of at least a first and a second phases at a first process is executed, and another of the at least first and second phases at a second process is also executed, so as to alternately execute a first phase and a second phase by a first process and a second process. The first phase includes processing at least one message from the various messages and storing at least one corresponding result in a local memory area. The first phase also includes storing al least one modification to the context data in the local memory area. The second phase includes performing a transaction of the at least one result and the at least one modification of the context data to the global database and committing the transaction.

Abstract: An improved testing assessment tool and methodology maps the Testing Maturity Model (TMM) structure to individual test areas, thereby enabling comprehensive and targeted improvement. In this way, the present invention uses the five TMM maturity levels to assess individual areas, rather than merely assigning a single maturity level to the entire organization. Embodiments of the present invention include a quick assessment that includes a relatively small number of questions to be subjectively answered using the TMM hierarchy. Embodiments of the present invention further include a full assessment that includes a relatively large number of questions to be discretely answered, with these results being use to evaluate various testing areas using the TMM hierarchy.

Abstract: A decision management system simulates a smart grid communications network service deployment using business and technology changeable parameters, models describing traffic profiles for smart grid domain devices and smart grid applications, smart grid infrastructure and a cost model. Candidate solutions for deploying the smart grid service are determined for different sets of changeable parameters through the simulations. These solutions are analyzed to identify a solution for deploying the smart grid service.

Abstract: A Peer-to-Peer Application Data Routing Fabric is described. The Fabric provides routing between endpoints resident in peer nodes of a Service Oriented Architecture where the routing is based on endpoint presence, availability, status, and location to satisfy the requirements of fault tolerance and load balancing among homogenous endpoints; or routing by address among instances of differing type. In the preferred embodiment of the Fabric, the Session Initiation Protocol components, interactions and transport mechanisms are leveraged and extended.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for detecting insider fraud. One method includes identifying one or more insider threat detection rules for an enterprise and obtaining behavioral data for an enterprise insider from multiple behavioral data sources. The enterprise is associated with a plurality of enterprise insiders, and the behavioral data describes at least one action of the first enterprise insider. The method further includes determining a threat score for the first enterprise insider based on the behavioral data for the first enterprise insider and one or more of the insider threat detection rules and initiating, when the threat score satisfies a threat threshold, one or more protective actions.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for processing a graphic in a document so that the graphic may be reused in a different application than the one it was originally used in. For a given document, a graphic may be identified from within the document and extracted from the document. The extracted graphic may be stored in a suitable storage medium, such as a reusable graphic repository. A structural feature associated with the extracted graphic may also be extracted. The extracted graphic may then be classified based on the extracted structural feature. Furthermore, a method and apparatus are provided for generating a reusable graphic from a document.

Abstract: Techniques and devices for facilitating migration of files between a source system and a target system are provided. A system for facilitating migration of files between a source system and a target system includes an extraction component and an injection component. The extraction component includes at least one extraction handler and a profile engine operative to parse a profile specification, execute the at least one extraction handler, and provide a batch specification. The injection component includes a batch handler for obtaining pulled data from a source system, and a batch engine is operative to parse a batch specification and to create at least one file structure in the target system based on extracted structure information in the batch specification. Methods and GUIs for facilitating migration of files are also described.

Abstract: According to an example, collaborative healthcare may include retrieving healthcare data for a patient from at least one data source, and generating a plurality of distinct healthcare programs for the patient based on the healthcare data. Collaborative healthcare may further include reconciling the plurality of distinct healthcare programs to generate a universal patient healthcare plan for the patient. The universal patient healthcare plan may include a universal view of the overall healthcare for the patient and healthcare provider-specific views for the patient. The reconciling may include detecting conflicts for predetermined components of the healthcare programs, and in response to the detection of the conflicts, eliminating errors related to the detected conflicts.

Abstract: Embodiments of the claimed subject matter are directed to methods and a system that allows the reduction of costs attributed to executing applications on a multi-platform system (such as a mainframe) by migrating certain processes operating on one platform to another platform in the system. In one embodiment, the reduction of cost is achieved by a method for migrating an application executing in a partition operating a proprietary operating system to a second partition operating an alternate operating system and leveraging special purpose processors unavailable to the proprietary operating system, which can be much less costly to purchase and/or rent and license.

Abstract: A content insertion system helps digital media providers insert replacement content (e.g., localized commercials) at precisely the right places in the video streams delivered to downstream players. Specifically, with frame accuracy, the system inserts content insertion triggers into the delivered video streams. From a source video input, the system determines the trigger positions at which insertion triggers exist with reference to house timecode. The system then locates the corresponding trigger positions in the output video stream with reference to a framecount of frames generated by a digital encoder. Abstract: A document analysis, commenting, and reporting system provides tools that automate quality assurance analysis tailored to specific document types. As one example, the system may implement state machines that evaluate document structure instances to determine whether the document structure instances conform to pre-defined syntaxes. The state machines may include error states and final states, and messages may be associated with the error states for display when a state machine reaches the error state.

Abstract: To entities that are likely to engage in a behavior, a behavior discrimination threshold for each of a plurality of behavior variables is determined. Variable values for each entity of a plurality of target entities and for each of the behavior variables are compared to the relevant behavior discrimination threshold to provide identifying variables for each entity. An index value is determined for each of the plurality of target entities based on the identifying variables for that entity. An index threshold is determined such that those entities of the target entities having index values that meet or exceed the index threshold are likely to exhibit or engage in the behavior more frequently than a random sampling of the plurality of training entities. Actions designed to affect the likelihood that the resulting targeted entities will engage in the behavior may be directed to the targeted entities.
