  • Patent number: 12072832
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for high-speed drivers are provided herein. In certain embodiments, a high-speed driver multiplexes two or more data streams. The high-speed driver is implemented with a mux-then-driver topology that provides multiplexing in a predriver circuit. Thus, the multiplexer is eliminated from the full rate output path to relax timing. Driver amplitude control schemes are also disclosed in which a controllable driver includes a group of differential series source transistor (SST) driver slices that are connected in parallel with one another to drive a pair of output terminals, and a group of attenuator slices that are connected in parallel with one another across the pair of output terminals. Additionally, the controllable driver includes a control circuit that activates an attenuator slice for each SST driver slice that is decommissioned to provide output amplitude control.

  • Patent number: 12074611
Abstract: High speed, high dynamic range SAR ADC method and architecture. The SAR DAC comparison method can make fewer comparisons with less charge/fewer capacitors. The architecture makes use of a modified top plate switching (TPS) DAC technique and therefore achieves very high-speed operation. The present disclosure proffers a unique SAR ADC method of input and reference capacitor DAC switching. This benefits in higher dynamic range, no external decoupling capacitory requirement, wide common mode range and overall faster operation due to the absence of mini-ADC.

  • Patent number: 12063485
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for generating a directional output signal from sound received by at least two microphones arranged as microphone array. The directional output signal has one or more Beam Focus Directions. The method includes transforming sound received by each microphone into a corresponding complex valued frequency-domain microphone. For any Beam Focus Direction a Beam Focus Spectrum is calculated, consisting, for each of the plurality of frequency components, of time-dependent, real-valued attenuation factors being calculated based on the plurality of microphone signals. For each of the plurality of frequency components, the maximum amongst those attenuation factors of different Beam Focus Spectra is selected and multiplied with the frequency component of the complex-valued frequency-domain signal of one microphone, forming a frequency-domain multi-focus directional output signal, from which by means of inverse transformation a time-domain signal can be synthesized.

  • Publication number: 20240253979
Abstract: A stress-isolated microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) device and a method of manufacture of the stress-isolated MEMS device are provided. MEMS devices may be sensitive to stress and may provide lower performance when subjected to stress. A stress-isolated MEMS device may be manufactured by etching a trench and/or a cavity in a first side of a substrate and subsequently forming a MEMS device on a surface of a platform opposite the first side of the substrate. Such a stress-isolated MEMS device may exhibit better performance than a MEMS device that is not stress-isolated. Moreover, manufacturing the MEMS device by first forming a trench and cavity on a backside of a wafer, before forming the MEMS device on a suspended platform, provides increased yield and allows for fabrication of smaller parts, in at least some embodiments.
