    Abstract: A dual frequency antenna is provided, which includes a helical radiator electrically connected to a main body via a feed point of the main body, a first radiator for generating resonance is formed on the lower portion of said radiator, a second radiator for generating resonance is formed on the upper portion of said radiator, wherein the resonance frequency of the second radiator is higher than that of the first radiator, and the helical pitch of the second radiator is larger than that of the first radiator. The dual frequency antenna easily enables tuning in a whole UHF frequency band, and work performance of an upper semi-sphere of the dual frequency antenna is improved in a GPS frequency band.

    Abstract: A shared channel used to communicate between a cable modem termination system and multiple cable modems is managed to prevent and/or reduce the impact of congestion. If the average channel utilization is above a near-congestion threshold, a cable modem in an extended high consumption state is assigned a reduced data transmission priority for managed traffic. Priority for that cable modem is restored to a default preferred level when the channel usage by that cable modem drops below a predetermined level or when the average aggregate channel utilization by all cable modems drops below the near-congestion threshold.

The media server receives status data from the STBs. A point of entry distribution device provides signal coupling and blocking to allow signals to propagate within the home and to the head-end but block certain signals from leaving the home to maintain isolation. The server communicates to legacy STBs and to new STBs and devices that do not use the legacy waveform. Legacy STBs can communicate with the server or with the cable head-end. New devices can communicate with the server and with each other over the in-home coaxial cable wiring.
