  • Patent number: 12067990
Abstract: This relates to systems and processes for using a virtual assistant to control electronic devices. In one example process, a user can speak an input in natural language form to a user device to control one or more electronic devices. The user device can transmit the user speech to a server to be converted into a textual representation. The server can identify the one or more electronic devices and appropriate commands to be performed by the one or more electronic devices based on the textual representation. The identified one or more devices and commands to be performed can be transmitted back to the user device, which can forward the commands to the appropriate one or more electronic devices for execution. In response to receiving the commands, the one or more electronic devices can perform the commands and transmit their current states to the user device.

  • Patent number: 12069512
Abstract: Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for a user equipment (UE) to send a portion of a packet data unit (PDU) to a base station. A radio link control (RLC) layer of the UE generates a PDU and a truncation indicator, where the truncation indicator can indicate a set of truncation points of the PDU. A medium access control (MAC) layer determines whether an uplink transmission size based on an uplink grant is smaller than a first number of bytes included in the PDU. In response to a determination that the uplink transmission size is smaller than the first number of bytes, the MAC layer selects a truncation point from the set of truncation points indicated by the truncation indicator, and remove at least a portion of the PDU to generate a truncated PDU having a second number of bytes smaller than the uplink transmission size.

  • Patent number: 12068786
Abstract: An electronic device may include a receiver having a light source that provides an optical signal to an optical splitter. An optical combiner may be coupled to the optical splitter over a set of parallel optical paths. A phased antenna array may have a set of antennas disposed on the optical paths. Each antenna may include an optical modulator disposed on a respective one of the optical paths and an antenna resonating element coupled to the modulator. Incident radio-frequency signals may produce electrical signals on the antenna resonating elements. Optical phase shifters may provide optical phase shifts to the optical signal. The modulators may modulate the optical local oscillator signal using the electrical signals. The optical combiner may generate a combined signal by combining modulated optical signals from the optical paths. A demodulator may recover wireless data from the radio-frequency signals using the combined signal.

  • Patent number: 12066644
Abstract: An optical prism that includes an interlock structure that precisely couples to a complementary structure of a refractive lens. For precision, the interlock structure may be formed at the same time and using the same technique as the optical surface of the prism. The interlock structure provides high accuracy when assembling a folded lens system by precisely aligning the object side optical surface of the lens with the image side optical surface of the prism so that the optical axis is centered in the lens. The prism may have refractive power. A portion of the object side surface may be coated with an opaque material to provide an aperture stop at that surface.

  • Publication number: 20240272709
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for generating user-aware eye models. During an enrollment process, images of a user's eye are captured by one or more cameras when the eye is in two or more different orientations and at two or more different levels of display brightness. The captured images are processed to generate a 3-dimensional, user-aware eye model, for example a model of at least the eye's cornea and pupil features. The generated user-aware eye model may be used in other processes, for example in a gaze tracking process. The enrollment process may be an iterative process to optimize the eye model, or a continuous process performed while the user is using the system.

  • Publication number: 20240272409
Abstract: A lens system provides a zoom function (variable magnification) in a low profile camera (lens system height less than or equal to 6 mm), which may be in a cellular phone. The lens system includes at least three movable lens groups that are movable along a common optical axis. Each of the three movable lens groups is coupled to a corresponding actuator. Responsive to a request to change focal length or magnification, a controller sends a corresponding signal to each of the actuators that move the corresponding lens group by a corresponding distance in a corresponding direction. The various movable lens groups may be moved by different distances and in different directions of movement. An f-number of the lens system is less than f/3.0. Focusing of an image cast onto an image sensor is accomplished by adjusting the position along the optical axis of one of the movable lens groups.

  • Publication number: 20240275369
Abstract: Embodiments relate to updating spur cancellation at a victim integrated circuit (IC) in accordance with dynamic changes in the operating frequencies of an aggressor IC. The aggressor IC changes its operating frequencies at an update time that is determined in advance. The update time and the changes to the operating frequencies are shared with the victim IC. The victim IC dynamically updates the relationships between frequencies of local clock signals for the victim IC and the aggressor IC. The victim IC generates a spur cancellation parameter based on the updated relationships of local clock frequencies, the update time and the changes to the operating frequencies of the aggressor IC, and configures a spur cancellation circuit. In this way, the victim IC may perform effective spur cancellation despite changes in the operating frequencies of the aggressor IC and deviation of the local clock frequencies.

  • Publication number: 20240276373
Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein may include receiving proximity messages during a first time period via a wireless personal area network. Each proximity message may include a proximity identifier calculated using a unique identifier for a proximate electronic device. In addition, the techniques may include retrieving, from a database, a set of device identifiers corresponding to devices in the first electronic device's contact list. The techniques may include for each message: determining whether the proximity identifier of the proximate electronic device matches a device identifier, thereby determining matching proximity messages. Moreover, the techniques may include generating an event score for the first time period based on the matching proximity messages, the event score having a probability that an event has occurred between the first electronic device another device. Also, the techniques may include determining whether an event has occurred by comparing the event score to an event threshold.
