Publication number: 20210345948Abstract: In some implementations, a mobile device can adjust an alarm siting based of the sleep onset latency duration detected for a user of the mobile device. For example, sleep onset latency can be the amount of time it takes for the user to fall asleep after the user attempts to go to sleep (e.g., goes to bed). The mobile device can determine when the user intends or attempts to go to sleep based on detected sleep ritual activities. Sleep ritual activities can include those activities user performs in preparation for sleep. The mobile device can determine when the user is asleep based on detected sleep signals (e.g., biometric data, sounds, etc.). In some implementations, the mobile device can determine recurring patterns of long or short sleep onset latency and present suggestions that might help the user sleep better or feel more rested.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 22, 2021Publication date: November 11, 2021Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Roy J. Patent number: 11172536Abstract: This disclosure relates to transmitting an emergency message to a user equipment device (UE) over a wireless local area network (WLAN). The UE may establish a connection with an access point through WLAN. The UE may transmit, via the access point and to a network entity, an indication that the UE supports receiving emergency messaging through the WLAN. At least in part in response to communicating the indication, the UE may receive, from the network entity and via the access point, an emergency message and location information. The UE may compare the location information with a location of the UE to determine whether the UE is located within a first region specified by the location information. Based on a determination that the location of the UE is within the first region, the UE may display the emergency message on a display of the UE.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2020Date of Patent: November 9, 2021Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Farouk Belghoul, Krisztian Kiss, Rafael L. Patent number: 11172350Abstract: This Application sets forth techniques for provisioning and activating electronic subscriber identity modules (eSIMs) for mobile wireless devices. An eSIM is reserved during a sales order process and later activated during device activation after receipt by a user. An option for eSIM installation in place of (or in addition to) physical SIM installation is provided when purchasing the mobile wireless device. The reserved eSIM can replace a previous SIM/eSIM or be a new eSIM. During device activation, installation and activation of the eSIM occurs. Activation of the eSIM can occur before or after deactivation of a transferred SIM/eSIM. The mobile wireless device accounts for propagation delay of eSIM activation through MNO servers by disabling and re-enabling the eSIM until initial attachment to an MNO cellular wireless network succeeds or a maximum number of retry attempts is reached.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2020Date of Patent: November 9, 2021Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Raj S. Patent number: 11170521Abstract: In an exemplary process for determining a position of an object in a computer-generated reality environment using an eye gaze, a user uses their eyes to interact with user interface objects displayed on an electronic device. A first direction of gaze is determined for a first eye of a user detected via the one or more cameras, and a second direction of gaze is determined for a second eye of the user detected via the one or more cameras. A convergence point of the first and second directions of gaze is determined, and a distance between a position of the user and a position of an object in the computer-generated reality environment is determined based on the convergence point. A task is performed based on the determined distance between the position of the user and the position of the object in the computer-generated reality environment.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 2019Date of Patent: November 9, 2021Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Mohamed Selim Ben Himane, Anselm Grundhöfer
