  • Patent number: 5842831
Abstract: An arrangement for the thermal protection of a rotor, fitted with moving blades, of a high-pressure compressor. The roots of the moving blades are inserted and locked in peripheral grooves which are at an axial distance from one another. The rotor has, between two adjacent peripheral grooves for the moving blades, at least one further peripheral groove having a hook extending over the entire periphery of the rotor. At least two plate-shaped heat-accumulation segments, each having at least one root which has a contour adapted to the hook of the rotor so that both form a contact area, are pushed radially one after the other into the further peripheral groove and locked therein. A cavity forming an insulating layer extends between the heat-accumulation segments and the rotor and between the moving-blade roots and the rotor, in which insulating layer the velocity of the compressor air is greatly reduced.

  • Patent number: 5840130
Abstract: In a combined gas/steam power plant with a once-through forced-flow steam generator, a separation bottle (25) is connected between the evaporator (22) and the superheater (23). To clean the water/steam circuit, in the full-load or the part-load mode, a larger quantity of water than necessary is conveyed through the economizer (21) and the evaporator (22) via a feed pump (20). The quantity of water is selected such that wet steam passes into the separation bottle (25). This water fraction, together with all the impurities contained therein, is separated in the separation bottle and is drawn off via a clarifying line (29). Overfeeding can be regulated in such a way that the fresh steam temperature corresponds to the nominal value of the respective load point. When cleaning of the water/steam circuit is intended in the full-load mode, and without overfeeding the system, steam from a stage of incomplete evaporation can be extracted out of the evaporator and led into the separation bottle.

  • Patent number: 5841986
Abstract: A method is specified for the transmission of binary asynchronous data, with a data word length of N bits, from a transmitter via a synchronous channel to a receiver. Maximum utilization of the transmission capacity of the synchronous channel is achieved as a result of the fact that the data words are extracted from the asynchronous data and are split up in encoded form between frame words, to be transmitted, of a frame.

  • Patent number: 5837019
Abstract: For the purpose of separating dust particles inside a cooling system of a rotor, fitted with moving blades, of a turbo-machine, a device is arranged upstream of the moving blades to be cooled and in the region of the rotor outer surface. The device has at least one feed channel through which a coolant flows, and is directed in the radial direction such that the dust particles located in the coolant accumulate on the side accelerating in the direction of rotation of the rotor. These dust particles subsequently pass into a separation chamber operationally connected to the feed channel and in which they are captured in order then to be discharged.

  • Patent number: 5835362
Abstract: In order to reduce the commutation inductance of series-connected controllable semiconductor components (V1-V6), the latter are connected, in an essentially orthogonal manner and at a predeterminable distance (a), via spur double striplines (6, 6') to essentially planar main lines (5, 5'). All of the double striplines (5, 5'; 6, 6') have a layered structure and are mutually insulated by a thin insulating layer (7), with the result that a minimum current area is achieved. The controllable semiconductor components (V1-V6) are accommodated closely adjacent to freewheeling diodes in a module (10), the heat of which can be dissipated by cooling elements (8). Bipolar transistors having an insulated gate (IGBTs) are preferably used as controllable semiconductor components (V1-V6).

  • Patent number: 5827045
Abstract: In a thermally loaded blade for a turbomachine, the front edge of such a blade is made from a ceramic material for providing better protection. The front edge has a shell-shaped form which covers at least one part of the head stage against which flow occurs. The connection between front edge and head stage is produced on the one side by a coupling-forming indentation and on the other side by an elastic element. The elastic element produces a retaining action at the location where it is placed and a frictional connection, having an effect on the indentation, on the other side of the blade. Cooling air bores in the head stage provide for a cooling effect on the ceramic front edge.

  • Patent number: 5805437
Abstract: A power electronic circuit arrangement which comprises a first power converter is specified. A second power converter is connected between the load terminals of the first power converter and a load. The negative or positive values of the DC voltage intermediate circuits of the first and second power converters can be added by means of corresponding driving of the power converters.
