  • Patent number: 6012723
Abstract: A brush gasket for two co-operating components located opposite one another. The brush gasket has a carrier body for the brushes arranged on one of the two components to be sealed off relative to one another, for example, a stator and a rotor. The carrier body has a supporting wall for the brushes on the low-pressure side, in order to protect them against pressure-related deformation. On the second of the components, opposite the carrier body, there is an abrasion ring made of a material which is softer than the material of the brushes. The abrasion ring together with the brushes thus forms a gasket group.

  • Patent number: 6009002
Abstract: A method for operating a power electronic circuit having a first power convertor and at least one second power convertor is specified. The pulse duration-modulated driving of the switches of the circuit arrangement is effected according to a comparison of a reference oscillation with a carrier oscillation. According to the invention, a component of a third harmonic is admixed with the reference oscillation over virtually the entire drive-level range, in particular including low drive-level rates in the range from 20% to approximately 87%. It is also possible to admix a corresponding component of a ninth harmonic in the drive-level range from 20% to approximately 33%. This results in a low clock frequency for the first power convertor and the second power convertor need not have a feedback capability. (FIG.

  • Patent number: 5999428
Abstract: An inverter having a plurality of inverter bridges which operate in parallel and whose output voltage is summed by way of a transformer. The transformer has a number of primary windings and associated secondary windings which correspond to the number of inverter bridges. Each inverter bridge is connected on the output side to a primary winding. The secondary windings are connected in series to sum the output voltages. The transformer has a center tap which is grounded by a ground connection. The suppression of in-phase or common-mode interference currents flowing by the ground connection and the interference voltages associated therewith is achieved by dividing the secondary windings into a first and second identical partial secondary winding. The partial secondary windings are connected to one another in the center tap in such a way that the common-mode currents and voltages induced in the partial secondary windings mutually cancel.

  • Patent number: 5992198
Abstract: In a hydraulic method, tubes (3) of an heat exchanger are rolled in in tube plates (1), and rounded tube inlet pieces are formed from the same tube (3) by means of the same device in the same work operation. For this purpose, the tubes (3) are inserted into the bores (2) of a tube plate (1) and cut off with an excess length. The tube (3) is widened by means of a widening machine over the entire depth of the bore (2), so that the tube (3) adheres to the inner wall of the bore (2). At the same time, the projecting tube end (10) is pressed on the mandrel (4) of the widening machine in the direction of the tube plate (1) by means of a further hydraulic shaping device (11) with a swept-back shape (12) until the tube end (10) achieves a trumpet shape. The advantage of the method resides in shortening the operating time with a device which executes both widening and formation of the tube inlet piece hydraulically.

  • Patent number: 5988846
Abstract: A drive system and a method of operating such a system are specified. The drive system comprises at least two drive groups having a plurality of drive controllers of controlled drives. The drive controllers of a drive group are synchronized via a drive bus by means of a local synchronization clock, and the local synchronization clocks are made equal to a global synchronization clock via a drive data network connecting the drive control means. The plant-wide synchronization of the drives via a global signal enables a drive system to be equipped with a virtually arbitrary number of drives. As a result of the fact that the desired values are preferably likewise transmitted synchronously, based on the global synchronization clock, between the drive control means via the drive data network, it is also the case that no time errors occur during the desired value transmission. The invention is preferably used for rotary printing machines.
