Abstract: Phenolic N-(amido) imides are provided which are useful as antioxidant stabilizers for organic materials, including a large variety of synthetic polymers, typically subject to thermooxidative degradation. The antioxidant effectiveness of the phenolic N-(amido)imide stabilizers is enhanced by the deactivating potential of the amido-imide moiety towards metals or metal ions that frequently contaminate polymer compositions and serve to catalyze thermal degradation.
Abstract: A process for the preparation of alkane- and arenesulfonamides in high purity and yield is provided. Ammonia or alkylamine is reacted under boiling conditions with an alkane- or arenesulfonyl halide in the absence of an added solvent. The heat of reaction is dissipated by the heat of vaporization of the ammonia or alkylamine.

Abstract: A composition for a cross-linkable hot melt adhesive is provided and is formed by an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer containing primary hydroxyl functions and a blocked polyisocyanate. This composition when associated with a tackifying resin which can also serve as blocking agent of the polyisocyanate, is a cross-linkable hot melt adhesive. The adhesive is used at a temperature at least equal to splitting temperature of the isocyanate functions of the polyisocyanate. The temperature at which such adhesives retain adherence can reach about 200.degree.-220.degree. C.

Abstract: An agent is provided which renders compatible at least two incompatible thermoplastic polymers. The agent contains one di- or trisequenced copolymer comprising at least one N-vinyl-pyrrolidone or methyl (meth) acrylate telomer and one mono- or difunctional oligomer selected from the group consisting of an ethylenically unsaturated polymerizable monomer, or a polycondensable monomer, or a lactam. Abstract: A method is disclosed to prepare a uniform, stable dispersion of an additive amount of a water-insoluble, high viscosity liquid polyalkylene glycol derivative in a substantially nonaqueous, water-soluble alkanolamine by combining under pressure a proportionate amount of the total polyglycol derivative to be added to the alkanolamine component, or mixture of alkanolamine and polyglycol derivative, subjecting the mixture to shear stress, and repeating the procedure until a uniform colloidal dispersion is obtained of the alkanolamine containing the desired additive amount of polyglycol derivative.
