  • Patent number: 10728459
Abstract: A system for tracking movable objects in a scene comprising a first overview unit arranged to capture a first overview of a first portion of a scene, and a second overview unit arranged to capture a second overview of a second portion of a scene, wherein the first portion and the second portion may be partly overlapping. The system further comprises a PTZ-camera to image selected objects in the first or second portion of the scene. The first and the second overview unit are configured to detect and locate moving objects in the scene, and to transmit positional data of said moving objects to a control unit that determines if two or more movable objects may be imaged using a single view of the PTZ-camera, and to send instructions to the PTZ-camera to image said two or more movable objects concurrently.

  • Publication number: 20200202689
Abstract: A method encodes a sequence of image frames depicting an object whose privacy is to be protected. A first and a second version of the sequence of image frames is generated. Image frames of the first version, but not the second version, of the sequence are provided with a privacy mask to protect the privacy of the object depicted therein. The first version of the sequence is encoded as a first encoded sequence of intra-coded image frames and inter-coded image frames. A second version of the sequence is encoded as a second encoded sequence of inter-coded image frames. The inter-coded image frames of the second encoded sequence are encoded by using the intra-coded image frames of the first encoded sequence. The inter-coded image frames of the second encoded sequence are encrypted, and thereafter the first and the second encoded sequence are merged into a single output sequence.

  • Publication number: 20200204757
Abstract: A method and apparatus for storing video data includes three or more cameras and a storage space. The storage space is partitioned into an initial set of allotted portions for storing video data captured by the video cameras. A video quality value is set for encoding video by each camera, and it is periodically determined whether maintaining the video quality value would cause the camera to exceed the allotted portion of storage space. If it is determined that the amount of video data for a camera exceeds its allotment of space, the video quality is reduced. If it is determined that the video quality from a camera falls below a quality threshold, the storage space is re-partitioned into which increased storage space is allotted to the camera having a video quality that falls below the threshold value, and decreased storage space is allotted to at least one other camera.

  • Publication number: 20200204792
Abstract: A method for carrying out a health check of at least two cameras comprising the steps of initiating a health check process and checking, in response to the initiating step, for motion events stored in a database storing motion events, for each of the two cameras. If the checking for motion events indicates that a motion event has been stored in the database for one of the at least two cameras, then the method further comprises the steps of selecting a motion event found when checking for motion events stored in the database and retrieving a video clip corresponding to the selected motion event, captured by the one of the at least two cameras. The method further comprises the step of displaying the retrieved video clip together with a corresponding camera identification for evaluation.

  • Publication number: 20200204828
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for adding a graphical object to image data of one or more image frames comprising a first image frame, the graphical object being added during encoding of the one or more image frames using an encoder, wherein the image data generator is converting the graphical object into a first set of discrete frequency transform, DFT, blocks each DFT block being associated with a position in the one or more image frames to which the DFT block corresponds. The encoder is performing DFT on a plurality of block of pixels of the first image frame, to output a second set of DFT blocks and then replacing a subset of DFT blocks of the second set of DFT blocks with the first set of DFT blocks according to the positions associated with the first set of DFT blocks.

  • Publication number: 20200193574
Abstract: There is provided a method, a device (104), and a system (100) for enhancing changes in an image (103a) of an image sequence (103) captured by a thermal camera (102). An image (103a) which is part of the image sequence (103) is received (S02) and pixels (408) in the image that have changed in relation to another image (103b) in the sequence are identified (S04). Based on the intensity values of the identified pixels, a function (212, 212a, 212b, 212c, 212d, 212e) which is used to redistribute intensity values of changed as well as non-changed pixels in the image is determined (S06). The function has a maximum (601) for a first intensity value (602) in a range (514) of the intensity values of the identified pixels, and decays with increasing distance from the first intensity value.
