  • Patent number: 8457568
Abstract: In a method for processing a signal received by a receiver, at a first wireless receiver (20, 62) a first signal (x(t), x1(t)) comprising first and second signal components is received. The first signal component is intended for the first wireless receiver (20, 62) and the second signal component is related to at least one of a sending signal (s(t)) generated by a transmitter (29, 69) or to a second signal (x2(t)) intended for a second wireless receiver (61). To the first wireless receiver (20, 62) a reference signal (r(t), r1(t), r2(t)) which is proportional to the sending signal (s(t)) or to the second signal (x2(t)). At the first wireless receiver (20, 62) and from the reference signal (r(t), r1(t), r2(t)) an estimation signal which estimates the second signal component is generated. A filtered signal (y(t), y1(t)) is generated by subtracting the estimation signal from the first signal (x(t), x1(t)).

  • Patent number: 8453317
Abstract: Methods of fabricating magnetic write heads and electrical lapping guides (ELG's) using a split gap deposition process is described. A removal process is performed on a magnetic material to define a main write pole and to define a corresponding ELG for the main write pole. A first non-magnetic gap layer is deposited. A mask and liftoff process is performed to deposit an electrically conductive material on the first gap layer disposed along a front edge of the ELG. A second non-magnetic gap layer is then deposited and a shield is fabricated for the write pole.

  • Patent number: 8456175
Abstract: Measurement arrangement and method for active load pull measurements of a device under test (1). A wideband analog-to-digital conversion block (3) is provided for obtaining measurement data. First and second injection signal generators (7, 8) are connected to a source side and a load side of the device under test (1). This set up allows to create predetermined reflection coefficients at reference planes of the device under test (1). Injection signal parameters as determined are converted into the injection signals at the source and load side by digital-to-analog conversion. The wideband analog-to-digital conversion block (3) is further arranged for analog-to-digital conversion of the intermediate frequency signals to obtain the actual measured reflection coefficient versus frequency functions with a first frequency resolution. The first frequency resolution applied in the analog-to-digital conversion is equal to or better than a second frequency resolution applied in the digital-to-analog conversion.

  • Patent number: 8453934
Abstract: A technique and a light emitting device that can smoothly read out data while tracking a position of the light emitting device (an object). The light emitting device expresses data with “a change in the change of a color (switching of changes)”. The light emitting device specifies an object and the position thereof with a first primary change and thereafter expresses data with, so to speak, a secondary change (switching of the primary change). The primary change means that G and B alternately turn on (indicated by G*B) and so on. The secondary change means a change from the condition (G*B), in which G and B alternately turn on, to the condition (B*R) in which B and R alternately turn on. Thus, since data is expressed by the change of color condition changes, it is easier to freely express data while the position of an object is specified.

  • Patent number: 8453867
Abstract: An externally threaded closure plug for tightly closing off the internally threaded opening in shipping and storage containers such as drums, pails and the like. The plug is formed as a cup having a bottom wall and threaded cylindrical sidewall terminating in a circumferentially enlarged rim. Immediately beneath the rim of the plug is a gasket seat defined by the undersurface of the plug rim, the plug sidewall and an annular gasket retaining lip lying in a plane parallel to the undersurface of the plug rim. In use, the plug is screwed into and out of a container wall opening, having an internally threaded portion and an unthreaded portion, the sealing gasket being compressed between the unthreaded opening portion and the plug gasket seat and lying in close proximity to the internal thread. • Patent number: 8457243
Abstract: A baseband signal generator (102a) provides a polar signal (A, I p) to a processing sub-unit (704p). The processing sub-unit (704p) receives furthermore feedback signals from a down converting unit (704c) which feedback signals are used to determine the magnitude (B) of the amplified output signal and the actual error phase. The magnitude (A) of the polar signal and the determined magnitude (B) are applied to a comparator (710) having its output connected to the input of a predistortion unit (214, 216). The output of the predistortion unit (214, 216) is connected to the input of a pulse width modulating unit (210, 212) which comprises a mapping unit (210) outputting two constant magnitude signals. The actual error phase and the phase component of the polar signal are used to generate a corrected phase component which is applied to a further mapping unit (202) forming part of a phase modulating unit (202, 204).
