  • Patent number: 8418506
Abstract: A method and device for automatically measuring the yarn length absorbed by a rectilinear machine adapted to produce an article and including a carriage movable to-and-fro over a needle bed between two ends of a working path, needles moving towards the carriage to cooperate with the yarn (F) and form an article, the yarn unwinding from a feeder with elements for measuring the yarn quantity fed at constant tension towards the needle bed. The feeder measures and constantly monitors the yarn feed velocity, this monitoring enables the fed and knitted yarn quantity to be obtained in real time and each measurement to be associated with the respective carriage travel stroke, this information enabling precise regulation of the knitting cams.

  • Patent number: 8422281
Abstract: The present invention relates to a voltage control circuit, semiconductor memory device, and method of controlling a voltage in a phase-change memory, wherein the voltage control circuit generates a controlled voltage which can be above the logic supply voltage. This voltage can limit the bit line voltage in a phase-change memory to allow the use of smaller transistors in the memory cells and in the program current part of the circuit. This results in smaller memory cells and modules.

  • Patent number: 8422168
Abstract: A method for forming a magnetic write head having a trailing shield with a tapered and stepped, self aligned trailing magnetic shield. The shield has a tapered portion that tapers away from the write pole as it extends away from the ABS. This tapered portion helps to channel flux to the pole tip portion of the shield, while preventing the loss of write field to the shield. The stepped portion of the shield further helps to prevent the loss of write field and also defines a secondary throat height of the shield that can be accurately located relative to the air bearing surface.

  • Publication number: 20130088375
Abstract: A method and apparatus for correcting the offset and linearity error of a data acquisition system. A charge redistribution digital to analog convertor (CDAC) is connected to one of the differential inputs of a comparator whose second input comes from a function CDAC. The calibration algorithm is built into a digital control unit. The digital control unit detects the offset and capacitor mismatch errors sequentially, stores the calibration codes for each error in calibration mode and provides the input-dependent error correction signals synchronized with the binary search timing to adjust the differential input of the comparator and compensate the input-dependent errors present at the output of the non-ideal function CDAC during normal conversions.

Abstract: An application service utilizes a single short code for messaging service through a mobile network, even though the one service is actually supported by multiple servers or the like, typically operated by different service providers. In the examples, a third party application service type platform is associated with the common short code of the application service. The third party platform performs intelligent routing/address changes to re-direct mobile station originated messages among the equipment of the service providers. The platform may also provide short code translations of source addresses, during processing of messages directed to mobile stations from the various application servers.

  • Publication number: 20130087005
Abstract: A motion platform system comprising a motion platform which is supported above a base by displacement units. Displacement units comprise a drive unit which drives a crank. A connecting arm is connected between the crank and the motion platform, so that translational and tilting movement of the motion platform is achieved by appropriate operation of the drive units. Each connecting arm has a curved profile which enables a full range of movement of the motion platform to be achieved using connecting arms of relatively short length. The connection between the connecting arm and the crank arm can be brought close to, or within, the crank arm. The height of the motion platform above the base, and bearing loads within the drive units, can thus be reduced.
