Abstract: A digital filter correlation engine, wherein the correlation engine combines N arbitrary digital filter states based on the weights and along with a threshold generate a network incident. This network incident in turn can be feedback to another digital filter. This multi-layering capability allows the creation of higher level event detections that are time-based for a cyber security analyst to analyze, thereby reducing the amount of manual work the analyst has to do in inspecting behaviors within the network.

Abstract: A system and method for scanning a wide band beam is presented. An apparatus includes a pair of prism triplets. Each prism triplet includes a first wedge prism, a second wedge prism and a third wedge prism all formed with different optical materials. In operation, a beam passing through the wide band team scanning apparatus first passes through the first, second and third wedge prisms of the first prism triplet. The beam then passes through the wedge prisms of the second prism triplet in a mirrored order (the third, then second, then first wedge prisms) than that of the first prism triplet. This apparatus with two prism triplets allows wide band light transmitted through it to emerge with its plurality of different wavelengths of light travelling in the same direction to equalize net dispersive effects each of different wavelengths.

Abstract: An entry slit panel for a push-broom hyperspectral camera is formed at least partly from a silicon wafer on which at least one companion sensor is fabricated, whereby the companion sensor is co-planar with the slit and detects light imaged on the panel but not on the slit. In embodiments, the companion sensor is a panchromatic sensor or a sensor that detects light outside the wavelength range of the camera. At least a region of the wafer is back-thinned to a thickness appropriate for a diffraction slit. The slit can be etched or laser cut through the thinned region, or formed between the wafer and another wafer or a conventional blade. The wafer can be back-coated or metalized to ensure its opacity across the camera's wavelength range. The companion sensor can be located relative to the slit to detect scene features immediately before or after the hyperspectral camera.

Abstract: A wing deploy initiator for deploying guidance wings of a rocket or missile, such as the APKWS, provides enhanced wing deploy performance with reduced complexity, cost, and likelihood of failure. The invention includes a cam which is driven between the stowed guidance wings by at least one compression spring, thereby forcing the guidance wings outward through slots in the fuselage of the rocket or missile. Oblique flat sides of the cam can push against beveled edges on the wings. The cam can be attached to spring mandrels, and the cam and mandrels can pass through a retaining plate as the springs decompress. Embodiments can exert sufficient push force to enable the wings to break through frangible slot covers. An embodiment applicable to the APKWS includes only 13 parts, and can exert up to 10 lb push force on each wing after 0.3 inches of wing travel.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for protecting the troops when they exit an armored vehicle is provided by utilizing the universal tail light assembly and providing the assembly with wide field-of-view cameras and other sensors, with screens or displays located within the vehicle to provide situational awareness of the rear of the vehicle, thus to alert troops and their commanders as to external threats prior to troop deployment. In one embodiment, two wide-angle infrared cameras are retrofitted to existing universal tail light assemblies to either side of the vehicle, with the cameras having overlapping fields of view to permit generation of a panoramic view. Moreover, additional sensors such as ultrasonic sensors, LIDARs and laser range finders can be located in the universal tail light assembly, with the subject system not requiring breach of the already-existing armor for the vehicle.

Abstract: A hybrid transistor device is provided. In one example case, the device includes a substrate, an oxide layer formed on the substrate, and a wide-bandgap body material formed between a portion of the oxide layer and a gate dielectric layer. The wide-bandgap body material has an energy bandgap higher than that of silicon. The device includes source-drain/emitter material formed on the oxide layer adjacent to the wide-bandgap body material so as to define a hetero-structure interface where the source-drain/emitter material contacts the wide-bandgap body material. The device includes a gate material formed over the gate dielectric layer, a base material formed over a portion of the source-drain/emitter material, and a collector material formed over a portion of the base material. The source-drain/emitter material is shared so as to electrically combine a drain of a first transistor type portion of the device and an emitter of a second transistor type portion.

Abstract: An oxygen delivery system is disclosed. The basis of the oxygen deliver system is a carbide-derived carbon (CDC). The CDC can be tuned to carry O2 directly (CDC OC), or hemoglobin can be adsorbed to provide a hemoglobin-based oxygen carrier (CDC HBOC). The delivery system allows the use of a variety of hemoglobins which differ in their oxygen dissociation profiles, including variant and mutant hemoglobins from other species. The delivery system is biocompatible and stable, and is able to irreversibly bind and hold large amounts of functional hemoglobin variants. The CDC HBOC and CDC OC provide a safe and effective blood substitute for combat casualty care, as well as being useful for oxygen delivery in other contexts.
