Abstract: A water-blown polyurethane foam is provided between two substrates in foamed-in-place applications such as cooling containers. The water-blown polyurethane foam is made dimensionally stable at low densities by adding lithium salts of a 2 to 24 carbon atom carboxylic acid to the polyol component. The dimensional stability of the foam at the low densities further results in raw material savings.
Abstract: Non-corrosive anti-freeze solutions for automotive cooling systems include an anti-corrosive effective amount of a sodium silicate corrosion inhibitor, and sodium nitrate. The sodium silicate has an unusually low ratio of silica to sodium oxide of greater than 1.0 to about 2.4. This relatively low ratio of silica to sodium oxide prevents gelation from occurring while the synergistic combination of the sodium silicate and sodium nitrate maintains maximum anti-corrosive effectiveness of alcohol-based solutions containing the same.
Abstract: An aqueous coating composition, comprisingA) an aqueous anionic polyacrylate or polyurethane dispersion obtainable by dispersing1) a polyacrylate resin, having functional groups selected from the group consisting of carboxylic acid groups, carboxylic anhydride groups or mixtures thereof in water in the presence of ammonia, or,2) a fully reacted polyurethane resin, formed from the reaction of a glycol or polyol of polyester or polyether with a diisocyanate, and then neutralized with ammonia or other amine, and dispersed in waterB) a phosphorous containing pigmentC) additives selected from the group consisting of pigments, solvents, rust inhibitors, dispersants, surfactants or mixtures thereof. The coating composition is useful as a primer for metal substrates in combination with a waterborne basecoat to give a stable metallic effect.

The carrier is made up of a grain or flour, sugars and starch binder, and may also contain flavorings, preservative, and an edible oil. The cholestyramine composition should not have more than 11.0% moisture by total weight and the optimal moisture content is not more than 2.0 to 4.0% by weight or lower. The composition may be in the form of coarse granules similar to granola or wheat germ, as well as croutons or chewable tablets which may be consumed without beverages or other food products.

Abstract: The present invention relates to low density, water-blown, rigid foams with good physical properties made with blends of toluenediamine (TDA)/glycerine initiated polyols. The foams made using these blends exhibit no initial surface friability. Further, it was found that specific blends of lower hydroxyl number polyols could be used, thereby reducing isocyanate consumption without affecting the physical properties of the foam.
