Abstract: Mixtures which can be cross-linked by photopolymerization and are based on soluble elastomeric block copolymers, photopolymerizable monomers which are compatible with these, photoinitiators and plasticizers contain, as the plasticizer, a chloroalkane of 8 to 40 carbon atoms which has a chlorine content of from 30 to 73% by weight.
Abstract: Ferromagnetic metal particles of substantially iron are prepared by starting from an acicular .alpha.-FeOOH, applying a shape-stabilizing finish to the particle surface, heating at 500.degree.-850.degree. C. and subsequently reducing with gaseous reducing agents at 200.degree.-500.degree. C. to the metal, and starting .alpha.-FeOOH being prepared in the presence of zinc and phosphate ions.

Abstract: The molecular weight distribution of polytetrahydrofuran and of copolymers of tetrahydrofuran and alkylene oxides are narrowed by a process in which low molecular weight fractions are distilled off from the polymers under pressures of less than 0.3 mbar and at from 200.degree. to 260.degree. C., the distillation residue is mixed with a solvent mixture consisting of (a) an alkanol, (b) a hydrocarbon and (c) water, the content of the individual components a, b and c in the mixture being from 4 to 60% by weight, the phases formed are then separated from one another and the polymer having a narrower molecular weight distribution is isolated from the phase.
Abstract: In an improved process for preparing 4-pentenates by isomerization, where isomeric pentenates are treated at elevated temperatures with zeolites and 4-pentenates are distilled out of the reaction mixture, the improvement comprises using pentenates in mixture with alkanols.
