  • Patent number: 4281346
Abstract: Complementary circuits for pre-emphasis and de-emphasis of video luminance signals, the circuits permitting an improved signal-to-noise ratio in a video signal transfer channel. The video signal has separate frequency- and amplitude-sensitive portions as well as a linear gain portion, thereby providing a fixed gain up to a predetermined lower frequency, a fixed response between this frequency and a variable upper frequency breakpoint, and an amplitude-dependent gain above the upper frequency breakpoint. De-emphasis is performed by a circuit also having separate frequency- and amplitude-sensitive portions and a linear gain portion, and which may be readily matched to the pre-emphasis circuit.

  • Patent number: 4278129
Abstract: Crude oil and gas production wells, which no longer produce oil or gas utilizing conventional primary and secondary means of recovery, can be returned to production by treatment comprising addition of an aqueous solution of certain phosphate ester surfactants followed by successive treatment with a hydrocarbon. Increased production also can be obtained in low-producing oil and gas wells by similar treatment with certain phosphate ester surfactants. Subsequent to treatment of a producer well, the phosphate ester surfactant is forced into the formation utilizing a hydrocarbon and said surfactant and hydrocarbon mixture is allowed to remain in the producing well, for an effective period of time ranging from not less than 24 hours to one month. Thereafter, pumping and/or conventional fluid drive means are then utilized to recover oil or gas from the subterranean oil or gas formation.

  • Patent number: 4278433
Abstract: A process for the production of resist prints under reactive dyes on textile materials which consist of cellulose fibers or a blend of cellulose fibers with other fibers, using reaction products of bisulfite adducts of aldehydes of 2 to 6 carbon atoms, or of ketones, with ammonia, primary amines or secondary amines in the molar ratio of from 3:1 to 1:1 as resists. Preferably, reaction products of a bisulfite adduct of acetaldehyde and ammonia in the molar ratio of from 3:1 to 1:1 are employed as resists. Because of the high stability of the resist print pastes, high color yields of the resist dye and satisfactory, reproducible resist effects of the ground dye are achieved.
