  • Patent number: 10575013
Abstract: Method and apparatus of managing a DPB (decoded picture buffer) for a video coding system are disclosed. Whether the IntraBC mode is used for a current picture is determined and a maximum allowed number of decoded pictures in the DPB is allocated based on whether the IntraBC mode is used for the current picture. The current picture is then encoded or decoded using decoded pictures stored in the DPB as reference data. In another method, a maximum number of reordered pictures in the DPB is determined. If certain conditions are true, one or more decoded pictures stored in the DPB will be emptied until none of the conditions is true. One condition corresponds to a number of decoded pictures in the DPB marked as “needed for output” being greater than the maximum number of reordered picture modified according to whether the IntraBC mode is used for the current picture.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless communication system which supports carrier aggregation. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method and to an apparatus for enabling a user equipment to perform a handover in a wireless communication system which supports carrier aggregation. The method for performing a handover comprises the steps of: transmitting a measurement report on a target cell to a serving cell; receiving, from the serving cell, a message containing a signature route sequence index, cyclic shift parameters, and information related to the component carrier of the target cell; confirming contention-based signatures generated on the basis of the signature route sequence index and cyclic shift parameters; and transmitting one of said contention-based signatures to the target cell for random access, via one or more component carriers, on the basis of said information related to the component carrier. The present invention also relates to an apparatus for the method.

  • Patent number: 10569620
Abstract: A refrigeration system includes a startup mode control module that receives an off time of a compressor of the refrigeration system and an ambient temperature, determines whether the off time and the ambient temperature indicate that the compressor is in a flooded condition, and selects, based on the determination, between a normal startup mode and a flooded startup mode. A compressor control module operates the compressor in the normal startup mode in response to the startup mode control module selecting the normal startup mode, in the flooded startup mode in response to the startup mode control module selecting the flooded startup mode, and transitions from the flooded startup mode to the normal startup mode after a predetermined period associated with operating in the flooded startup mode. The compressor is operated at a first speed in the normal startup mode and at a second speed in the flooded startup mode.

  • Patent number: 10569621
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a casing for an air conditioning unit including a main body, a door, a passing defining member, and a drain channel. The main body includes a fresh-air passage and a recirculation-air passage. The recirculation-air passage is positioned below the fresh-air passage. The door selectively opens and closes a communication hole through which the fresh-air passage and the recirculation-air passage are in fluid communication with each other. The passage defining member is disposed upstream of the communication hole and defines a lower side of the fresh-air passage. The drain channel extends from the passage defining member to a space outside of the recirculation-air passage to discharge condensed water generated in the fresh-air passage.

  • Patent number: 10572941
Abstract: A system and methods for controlled market data delivery are described. According to one example embodiment, upon detecting a preset threshold of updates in a queue at a gateway, a predetermined number of market updates may be processed before any data is sent to a client terminal. According to one method, update types may be used to control how many updates are processed before any data is sent. Also, once the number of updates to be processed is set, a market update having a higher priority update type may be used to trigger a change in the number of market updates that was set for processing.

  • Patent number: 10571547
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for determining positions of indoor localization beacons without requiring a physical site survey. In a coarse positioning method, a mobile node receives beacon signals that identify rooms (such as stores in a shopping mall) in which the beacons are located. The mobile node obtains floor plan information relating to the building and estimates beacon locations based on the floor plan and beacon signal strength. The estimated beacon locations may be arranged in a predetermined geometric pattern based on the number of beacons in a room. In a fine positioning method, a mobile node recognizes its proximity to a beacon and responsively measures the distance to other beacons. Estimated beacon positions may be used to estimate the location of the mobile node using trilateration or other techniques.

  • Patent number: 10574273
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a method for dynamically scaling log-likelihood ratio (LLR) values of received data bits before decoding the received data bits. A plurality of data bits are received corresponding to a data packet. A first set of data bits of a first type are determined from the plurality of data bits based on a modulation scheme corresponding to the received data bits. A first LLR histogram is generated corresponding to the first set of data bits of the first type. A first scaling factor is calculated based on the first LLR histogram such that a first LLR value range corresponding to the first set of data bits is expanded to a maximum LLR value range. All LLR values are scaled by the first scaling factor. The scaled LLR values corresponding to the plurality of data bits are sent to a decoder.

  • Patent number: 10574407
Abstract: A method and device are disclosed that enable communication between an airborne STA and a ground based AP in the presence of a multitude of other ground based networks that would normally cause such interference that communication would not be possible. • Patent number: 10569422
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments relate to unique structures for robotic end-of-arm-tools (EOATs). According to some embodiments, two or more fingers or actuators may be present on an EOAT, and the actuators may be configured to move (together or separately) to adjust the spacing between the actuators. Some aspects involve techniques for extending and/or retracting a vacuum cup present on the EOAT. Further embodiments, which may be used separately or in conjunction with the previously-described embodiments, apply a secondary inner grip pad to provide a secondary gripping mode for the EOAT. These embodiments may be particularly advantageous when the actuators are soft robotic actuators and the inner grip pad is a relatively more rigid structure than the actuators.

  • Patent number: 10572352
Abstract: Techniques for implementing Byzantine fault tolerance with verifiable secret sharing at constant overhead are provided. In one set of embodiments, a client can determine a secret value s to be shared with N replicas in a distributed system, s being input data for a service operation provided by the N replicas. The client can further encode s into an f-degree polynomial P(x) where f corresponds to a maximum number of faulty replicas in the distributed system, evaluate P(x) at i for i=1 to N resulting in N evaluations P(i), generate at least one f-degree recovery polynomial R(x) based on a distributed pseudo-random function (DPRF) f?(x), and evaluate R(x) at i for i=1 to N resulting in at least N evaluations R(i). The client can then invoke the service operation, the invoking comprising transmitting a message including P(i) and R(i) to each respective replica i.
