  • Patent number: 12276534
Abstract: A priming valve includes a fluid flow path, a fluid inlet configured to couple to a fluid outlet of a fluid channel including at least one sensor configured to characterize at least one attribute of a fluid, a fluid outlet, a valve seat, and a connector. The connector engages the valve seat to prevent fluid flow via the fluid flow path. The connector is configured to move relative to the valve seat in response to a threshold pressure within the fluid flow path to allow the fluid to flow via the fluid flow path. A flow sensor sub-assembly for sensing flow of a fluidic medicament may include a priming valve and at least one sensor of a fluid port configured to characterize at least one attribute of a fluid within an administrable fluid source. A method for readying a fluid sensor may use a priming valve.

  • Publication number: 20250114535
Abstract: An injection assembly includes a syringe barrel having a proximal end and a distal end, a needle hub supporting the needle and coupled to the distal end of the syringe barrel. A sleeve is positioned on the syringe barrel and needle hub for sliding between a first position where the needle is covered and a second position exposing the needle. The sleeve is biased to the extended position to cover the needle. The sleeve has a distal end and a proximal end. During use, the syringe is positioned against the skin of the patient so that distal end of the sleeve contacts the skin of the patient before the needle so that lateral or angular force applied relative to the surface of the skin is absorbed by the sleeve to inhibit sliding of the sleeve and resist bending of the needle during insertion.

  • Publication number: 20250114534
Abstract: A medication injection device and method of setting a desired dose of medication are provided, where the device includes a housing having an opening or a window therein, and a dose set knob is disposed at least partially within the housing. The dose set knob is movable with respect to the housing to set a desired dose of medication and has represented thereon one or more dose value indicators. The opening or window in the housing and the dose value indicators on the dose set knob are configured such that, when moving the dose set knob with respect to the housing to set or select the desired dose, the dose value representative of the selected dose is legible when viewed through the opening or window, but otherwise is not clearly legible.

  • Patent number: 12268838
Abstract: A medical device for infusing medical substances has activation buttons accessible on an exterior of a device housing. The activation buttons and corresponding electrical switches within the device housing are configured to prevent inadvertent activation of the activation buttons and therefore inadvertent operation of the corresponding electrical switches to initiate a process such as the infusion of medical substance(s) to a user. The medical device employs overlap of respective time traces initiated by activation of the activation buttons to determine whether the activation is intended and valid. These respective time traces do not have to be initiated simultaneously or in any particular sequence. The activation buttons can be elastomeric overmolded buttons set within cutouts in the device housing, and, when depressed, make physical contact with the corresponding electrical switches.

  • Publication number: 20250102423
Abstract: A calibrator bottle and method of calibration. The calibrator bottle includes a plastic material that is doped or compounded with a fluorescent material system that fluoresces in a target range and may be used to calibrate a blood culture instrument that measures sample fluorescence to determine bottle positivity or negativity. Also described herein is a system and method to control the temperature of samples in a blood culture apparatus using a resistance temperature device (RTD) device that measures the temperature of the sample. The sample measurements are correlated with the ambient temperature to determine an ambient temperature that will provide a target bottle content temperature.
