    Abstract: The present invention is directed to improved speech intelligibility in telephones with multiple microphones. Such a telephone includes a first microphone, a second microphone, a voice activity detector (VAD), a receiver module, and a signal processor. The first microphone outputs a first audio signal, which comprises a voice component when a near-end user talks and a background noise component. The second microphone outputs a second audio signal. The VAD generates a voice activity signal responsive to a ratio between the first audio signal and the second audio signal. The voice activity signal identifies time intervals in which the voice component of the near-end user is present in the first audio signal. The receiver module receives a third audio signal, which comprises a voice component of a far-end user. The signal processor modifies the third audio signal responsive to the voice activity signal.

    Abstract: A mobile device in an OFDM system receives an OFDM signal comprising RS tones and data OFDM symbols. The received RS tones are extracted and utilized to perform channel estimation. The resulting raw channel estimates are time filtered by matching channel time variance measured in frequency domain and in time domain, respectively. The measured channel time variance comprises inter-carrier interference measurement and Doppler spread measurement. Mean of differences between neighbor adjacent subcarriers of the extracted RS tones is used for inter-carrier interference measurement. Autocorrelation functions of the raw channel estimates are evaluated for the Doppler spread measurement using, for example, level crossing and/or axis crossing based methods. The raw channel estimates are filtered through averaging and/or recursively filtering using time filter parameters determined based on the inter-carrier interference measurement and the Doppler spread measurement.

    Abstract: According to one disclosed embodiment, an adaptive voltage rail circuit for integrating low voltage devices with high voltage analog circuits is described. This adaptive voltage rail circuit includes a high voltage analog circuit having a common mode voltage. Further included is a first voltage rail having a first rail voltage which is based on and greater than the common mode voltage of the high voltage analog circuit. A second voltage rail having a second rail voltage which is based on and less than the same common mode voltage is also present. By connecting these first and second voltage rails across at least one low voltage device, an adaptive voltage rail circuit is able to safely integrate low voltage devices with high voltage analog circuits in the same system.

Base view pictures are generated selectively based on available memory resource. The residual view video is generated by subtracting base view pictures from corresponding enhancement view pictures. The received base view and residual view videos are buffered for video decoding. Pictures in the buffered residual view video are added to corresponding pictures in the buffered base view video for enhancement view decoding. The left view video and/or the right view video are generated from the resulting decoded base view and enhancement view pictures. A motion vector used for a disparity predicted macroblock is applied to adjacent macroblock pre-fetching.

The processor may operate in a low power mode based on a clock signal generated from a low power oscillator. When an FM interrupt signal is received, the processor may enable FM data processing that may be based on an FM clock signal. When data processing is complete, the processor may return to the low power mode operation.

    Abstract: Embodiments of this disclosure include methods in which a core network controller determines which femtocell base station to handover a cellular device to. Methods include comparing a cell parameter difference provided by a base station with a cell parameter difference provided by the cellular device. The cell parameter difference provided by the base station is the cell parameter difference between the base station and each neighboring base station. The cell parameter difference provided by the cellular device is the cell parameter difference between the base station through which the cellular device is currently associated with to the core network and each neighboring base station. The core network controller compares the cell parameter difference provided by the cellular device with the cell parameter difference provided by the base station. The core network hands the cellular device to the base station when the cell parameter difference provided by each are substantially equivalent.
