Patent number: 8689290Abstract: Systems and methods for securing a credential generated by or stored in an authentication token during an attempt to access a service, application, or resource are provided. A secure processor receives a credential from an authentication token and securely stores the credential. The secure processor then verifies the identity of the individual attempting to use the authentication token and cryptographically verifies the identity of the server being accessed. The credential is only released for transmission to the server if both the identity of the individual and the identity of the server are successfully verified. Alternatively, a secure connection is established between the secure processor and the server being accessed and a secure connection is established between the secure processor and a computing device. The establishment of the secure connections verifies the identity of the server. After the secure connections are established, the identity of the user is verified.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2012Date of Patent: April 1, 2014Assignee: Broadcom CorporationInventor: Mark Buer

Patent number: 8686755Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products are provided to implement clock gating with double data rate (“DDR”) logic. In traditional single data rate (“SDR”) clock gating, disabling the clock holds the clock logic level to a predefined value, potentially causing a logic transition that would be erroneously interpreted as a normal clock transition by DDR logic. Similar techniques can also be utilized to convert a SDR clock to a half-frequency DDR clock for use with DDR logic, realizing the energy efficiencies of DDR clocking.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2011Date of Patent: April 1, 2014Assignee: Broadcom CorporationInventor: Anatoly Gelman

Patent number: 8686789Abstract: A Class-D amplifier arrangement is disclosed that implements an auxiliary feedback loop and a primary feedback loop. The auxiliary feedback loop operates upon an input signal when the Class-D amplifier arrangement is operating under a power-up condition and a power-down condition so that a modulated signal is confined within the auxiliary feedback loop during the power-up condition and the power-down condition. The confinement of the modulated signal within the auxiliary feedback loop during the power-up condition and the power-down condition diverts transient signals coupled onto the modulated signal from an output device. The primary feedback loop operates upon the input signal when the Class-D amplifier arrangement is operating under a normal condition so that the modulated signal is introduced to the output device during the normal condition.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2011Date of Patent: April 1, 2014Assignee: Broadcom CorporationInventors: Xicheng Jiang, Minsheng Wang

Publication number: 20140086258Abstract: The systems and methods disclosed herein allow for a switch (in a packet-switching network) to track buffer statistics, and trigger an event, such as a hardware interrupt or a system snapshot, in response to the buffer statistics reaching a threshold that may indicate an impending problem. Since the switch itself triggers the event to alert the network administrator, the network administrator no longer needs to sift through mountains of data to identify potential problems. Also, since the switch triggers the event prior to a problem arising, the network administrator can provide remedial action prior to a problem occurring. This type of event-triggering mechanism makes the administration of packet-switching networks more manageable.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2012Publication date: March 27, 2014Applicant: BROADCOM CORPORATIONInventors: Bruce Kwan, Puneet Agarwal, Brad Matthews, Mohan Kalkunte, Martin Lund
