  • Patent number: 8681687
Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for channel estimation for interference suppression are provided. In this regard, one or more circuits and/or processors of a mobile communication device may generate and/or receive a first set of channel estimates and a second set of channel estimates. The one or more circuits and/or processors may modify the second set of channel estimates based on a comparison of a measure of correlation between the first set of channel estimates and the second set of channel estimates with a threshold. The first set of channel estimates and/or the modified second set of channel estimates may be utilized for cancelling interference in received signals. The first set of channel estimates may be associated with a first transmit antenna of a base transceiver station and the second set of channel estimates may be associated with a second transmit antenna of the base transceiver station.

Abstract: Securely loading code in a security processor may include autonomous fetching an encrypted security data set, which may comprise security code and/or root keys, by a security processor integrated within a chip. The encrypted security data set may be decrypted via the on-chip security processor and the decrypted code set may be validated on-chip using an on-chip locked value. The on-chip locked value may be stored in a one-time programmable read-only memory (OTP ROM) and may include security information generated by applying one or more security algorithms, for example SHA-based algorithms, to the security data set. The encryption of the security data set may utilize various security algorithms, for example AES-based algorithms. The on-chip locked value may be created and locked after a virgin boot of a device that includes the security processor. The security data set may be authenticated during the virgin boot of the device.

  • Publication number: 20140077990
Abstract: A global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receiver comprising one or more regular channel circuits and one or more sniff channel circuits may be operable, utilizing the sniff channel circuits, to monitor power levels of currently visible GNSS satellites which are not being utilized by the regular channel circuits. An alternative GNSS satellite from the currently monitored GNSS satellites may be selected by the GNSS receiver based on the monitored power levels. GNSS signals received from the selected alternative GNSS satellite may be processed by a regular channel circuit. The GNSS receiver may be operable to detect, for example, signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) or carrier-to-noise density ratios (C/N0s) of the currently visible GNSS satellites utilizing the sniff channel circuits. The sniff channel circuits may not be utilized to generate GNSS measurements so that functionality of each of the sniff channel circuits may be reduced.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enhancing security by providing additional authentication factors. Prior to authentication, a user may enroll a device from which access to a service or application is authorized. During authentication, the authentication system may retrieve the location of the enrolled device and generate one or more questions that only a user in that location can answer. The user may additionally or alternatively enroll a movement signature with an authentication server as an authentication factor. The user may set a pattern for device movement. During authentication, the user moves the device in the pattern. The device then transmits the movement signature for authentication.

  • Publication number: 20140079246
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed to provide automatic power control for a driver circuit. Embodiments disclosed herein enable a driver circuit to automatically decrease the gain of amplified input signals when output power exceeds a threshold. Further, embodiments disclosed herein enable a driver circuit to automatically increase the gain of amplified input signals when battery supply voltage drops to avoid unwanted output signal distortion. By using reference signals for battery power and amplified signal input, the amplifiers of the driver circuit can be automatically adjusted until an equilibrium is reached.

  • Publication number: 20140077840
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure enable low swing dynamic circuits with reduced dynamic power and leakage power. In an embodiment, a level detector circuit monitors the pre-charge voltage level of the dynamic node of a dynamic circuit and discontinues the charging of the dynamic node when the pre-charge voltage exceeds a logic high reference voltage. The logic high reference voltage is selected below a supply voltage of the dynamic circuit, resulting in a low swing dynamic circuit. In another embodiment, the pull-down logic circuitry is disconnected from the dynamic node when the dynamic node voltage falls below a logic low reference voltage, above a ground voltage. In another embodiment, a DC keeper circuit of the dynamic circuit is configured based on the pre-charge level of the dynamic node.

Abstract: Embodiments include, but are not limited to, systems and methods for enabling Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) in the upstream in an Ethernet Passive Optical Network over Coax (EPoC) network. Embodiments include systems and methods for translating Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON) upstream time grants to OFDMA resources represented by individual subcarriers of an upstream OFDMA frame. In an embodiment, the translation of EPON upstream time grants to OFDMA resources ensures that Coaxial Network Units (CNUs) sharing an OFDMA frame do not use overlapping subcarriers within the frame. Embodiments further include systems and methods for timing upstream transmissions by the CNUs in order for the transmissions to be received within the same upstream OFDMA frame at a Fiber Coax Unit (FCU). Embodiments further include systems and methods for re-generating a data burst from OFDMA resources for transmission from the FCU to an Optical Line Terminal (OLT).
