    Abstract: A core module for a portable computing device includes wireless power receiver circuitry, battery power circuitry, power supply circuitry, a processor, and an RF link interface. The wireless power receiver module, when operable, receives a wireless power transmit signal and converts it into a supply voltage. The battery power circuitry, when operable, outputs a battery voltage. The power supply circuitry, when operable, converts the supply voltage or the battery voltage into one or more power supply voltages. The processor is operable to select one of the battery voltage, the supply voltage, and one of the one or more power supply voltages to produce a selected voltage. The RF link interface outputs the selected voltage on to an RF link of the portable computing device for providing power to one or more multi mode RF units within the portable computing device.

    Abstract: A wireless communication system and method that includes configurable Carrier Aggregation (CA) and/or Multiple-input Multiple-output (MIMO) operational modes. In CA, multiple carriers (i.e., channel bundling) are aggregated and jointly used for transmission to/from a single terminal. Downlink inter-band carrier aggregation increases the downlink data rates by routing two signals, received in different frequency bands, simultaneously to two active receivers in the RF transceiver. MIMO utilizes two additional receivers as diversity paths and the frequency generation can be shared between main and diversity path for each carriers.

    Abstract: Described herein is a method and system for parallel processing video data. The system having parallel encoder devices can create a balance between quality of service and delay. In order to maintain quality, compression parameters in a group of pictures can be produced by one encoder device and used by another encoder device for estimation during the encoding of another group of pictures. Compression parameters of different picture types may be stored separately and used for the encoding of a future pictures of the same type. The generation and passing of compression parameters introduces a delay based on the time it takes to encode one or more pictures.

    Abstract: To assist with the detection of unfiltered device(s), a system observes how the received noise changes between two links as the transmit signal is changed. Harmful unfiltered nonlinear devices will generate significant noise that depends on the transmitted signals; therefore, this additional noise can be quantified to some extent by comparing the observed noise for two different transmit signals. The total noise can be determined from the SNR if the received signal is known. The received signal may be read directly in some non-standard systems, or it may be determined from the known transmit signal and channel attenuation, which is sometimes the case in standard-compliant links, but often with a relatively large error. To circumvent this problem, certain embodiments of this invention only consider the change in noise between two links with the same channel attenuation. This differential comparison makes it unnecessary to accurately know the channel attenuation.

The captured data may be dynamically stored in a data binding format or as raw data in a local host device or communicated externally to be stored in a remote host or storage. At least one user preference may be specified for linking a biometric event data to the mapped, analyzed, categorized and stored captured data in a database. Captured data may be retrieved by matching biometric event data to at least one user preference from the database.

The receiver may further determine, from a second received wireless signal, a second chip sequence representative of the secondary code by extraction of the primary code from the second received wireless signal.     Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for timing skew mitigation in time-interleaved ADCs (TI-ADCs) that may be performed for any receive signal without any special signals during blind initialization, which may be followed by background calibration. The same gain/skew calibration metrics may be applied to baud sampled and oversampled systems, including wideband receivers and regardless of any modulation, by applying a timing or frequency offset to non-stationary sampled signals during initial training. Skew mitigation is low latency, low power, low area, noise tolerant and scalable. Digital estimation may be implemented with accumulators and multipliers while analog calibration may be implemented with adjustable delays. DC and gain offsets may be calibrated before skew calibration. The slope of the correlation function between adjacent samples may be used to move a timing skew estimate stochastically at a low adaptive rate until the skew algorithm converges.
