  • Patent number: 9264163
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that facilitates multiplexing low-speed Ethernet channels onto a high-speed channel. During operation, the system receives a number of low-speed Ethernet channels. Next, the system derives N bit streams from the number of low-speed Ethernet channels, and feeds each bit stream to an input of a serializer, which is conventionally used to serialize bits from a single channel. Each input of the serializer comprises one bit of an N-bit-wide parallel input bus, and the data rate of the serializer output matches the data rate of the high-speed channel. The system then transmits the output of the serializer onto the high-speed channel.

  • Publication number: 20160044641
Abstract: During discontinue reception (DRX) operation of a mobile terminal of a wireless communications network, methods to ensure that user equipment is in an awake mode when a network node sends a scheduling grant on the physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). Dynamic scheduling (DS) and semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) grants may appear on PDCCH only once. One method defines every received downlink (DL) semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) signal in a subframe as active time in a configured DRX cycle and includes in said defining active time any occurrence of a DL assignment being configured for the subframe. A second method receives an indication of a downlink transmission or a configured downlink assignment configured for the current PDCCH subframe, starts a Hybrid Automatic Repeat request (HARQ) Round Trip Timer (RTT) whether UE is in active time or not, and stops a drx-RetransmissionTimer for the corresponding HARQ process whether UE is in active time or not.

  • Patent number: 9258811
Abstract: The present invention discloses a signaling method, an apparatus and a computer program for controlled transmission signal deferring utilizing both licensed and unlicensed frequency bands for carrier aggregation. In the method, a connection is established between a User Equipment and a base station. For example, based on a sensed interference level, a transmission deferring indication is generated regarding a secondary component carrier locating on an unlicensed band, in case the secondary component carrier is occupied. This indication may be generated and sent either by the base station or by the User Equipment. Finally, the secondary component carrier is deactivated for data transmission, for deferring data transmission for a certain time period. After the deferring time has passed, the data transmission can be re-performed on the same secondary component carrier, or through switching to another secondary component carrier in unlicensed spectrum.
