  • Patent number: 9287897
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a system and method for encoding k input symbols, using a Reed-Solomon erasure correction code, into a longer stream of n output symbols for transmission over an erasure channel. The present disclosure is further directed to a system and method for recovering the original k input symbols from only (and any) k output symbols (out of the n output symbols) received over the erasure channel. A symbol is a generic data unit consisting of one or more bits that can be, for example, a packet. The systems and methods of the present disclosure provide for an adjustable code rate that can be readily adapted based on changing channel conditions without having to reconstruct the encoder/decoder. As a result, such an encoder/decoder can be referred to as rate-independent.

  • Patent number: 9288008
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems for incorporating bonding processors while avoiding bonding processor buffer overflow by initiating retransmission requests on all data lines whenever corrupted data is encountered on one data line. Initiating these “extra” retransmission requests equalizes retransmissions delays over all transmission lines, preventing the bonding processor from receiving excess data that cannot be reassembled until the retransmission request is processed.

  • Patent number: 9286900
Abstract: An audio codec in a baseband processor may be utilized for mixing audio signals received at a plurality of data sampling rates. The mixed audio signals may be up sampled to a very large sampling rate, and then down sampled to a specified sampling rate that is compatible with a Bluetooth-enabled device by utilizing an interpolator in the audio codec. The down-sampled signals may be communicated to Bluetooth-enabled devices, such as Bluetooth headsets, or Bluetooth-enabled devices with a USB interface. The interpolator may be a linear interpolator for which the audio codec may enable generation of triggering and/or coefficient signals based on the specified output sampling rate. An interpolation coefficient may be generated based on a base value associated with the specified output sampling rate. The audio codec may enable selecting the specified output sampling rate from a plurality of rates.

  • Patent number: 9287189
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for semiconductor devices are provided herein. A semiconductor device includes an array of conductive pads for signals. One or more non-linear compliant springs may be present to route signals from the conductive pads to interconnect pads formed on the semiconductor device to attach bump interconnects. Each non-linear compliant spring may include one or more routing segments. The semiconductor device may be mounted to a circuit board by the bump interconnects. When the semiconductor device operates, heat may be generated by the semiconductor device, causing thermal expansion by the semiconductor device and the circuit board. The semiconductor device and circuit board may expand by different amounts due to differences in their thermal coefficients of expansion. The non-linear compliant springs provide for compliance between the conductive pads and bump interconnects to allow for the different rates of expansion.

  • Patent number: 9287931
Abstract: A DSL transmitter and receiver are disclosed that efficiently estimate crosstalk interference. When transmitting over a DSL cable, each of the lines of the cable cause interference in the signals traveling though the other lines in the form of crosstalk. In order to reduce the complexity of the crosstalk estimation calculations, the transmitter sends a measurement signal whose matrix includes a plurality of sub-matrices that include less than all of the signal slots and are modulated with QAM +1s or ?1s. Meanwhile, the remaining signal slots are modified with QAM 0 s, which do not require any processing during the crosstalk estimation. Rather than calculating crosstalk vectors of all lines, the receiver need only calculate the crosstalk vectors for the signal slots contained within the sub-matrices, thereby significantly reducing complexity.

  • Patent number: 9286997
Abstract: An encoded ROM array structure couples a first one of a first set of bitlines to a second one of a second set of bitlines through a transistor when the wordline connected to the gate terminal of that transistor is asserted. This encoded arrangement can be extended to any number of encoded bitlines, e.g., 2, 4, 8, 16, and so on. Each of the first plurality and second sets of bit lines are coupled to circuits for charging and discharging the bitlines. • Patent number: 9287835
Abstract: A low quiescent current amplifier and driver having multiple amplifiers (e.g. Class AB and B amplifiers) work in concert to independently amplify all or a portion of a signal into multiple amplified signals combined into a unified signal. Operation of a second amplifier is slaved to operation of a first amplifier. Each amplifier may have its own feedback loop providing the same gain transfer function to align transitions of the multiple amplified signals. Operation of the first amplifier may be detected using a replica of a signal, stage or transconductance in the first amplifier. At the same threshold, operation of the first and second amplifiers may be transitioned, e.g., the second amplifier may transition between providing increasing or decreasing current and providing zero current while the first amplifier may transition between providing constant current and providing increasing or decreasing current.

  • Patent number: 9288893
Abstract: A twisted differential conductor pair is formed on a circuit board that includes first-third conductors. The second conductor includes first-third portions. The second portion of the second conductor extends between an end of the first conductor and an end of the third conductor, and couples an end of the first portion of the second conductor to an end of the third portion of the second conductor. A solder mask layer is formed over the first, second, and third conductors on the circuit board. An end of the first conductor and the end of the third conductor are exposed through the solder mask layer. The exposed end of the first conductor is coupled to the exposed end of the third conductor over the solder mask layer with a bridge. This configuration may be repeated to create multiple twists along the twisted differential conductor pair.
