Abstract: A triggered restart mechanism for failure recovery in power over Ethernet (PoE). Powered devices (PDs) that fail can be remotely recycled by a power sourcing equipment (PSE). After detection of a failure of a PD, such as by the failure to receive a status message, a PSE can generate a reset signal (e.g., power cycle, reset pulse, etc.) on the port. This reset signal can cause the PD to perform a full power cycle or quick restart.
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for performing packet loss concealment using an extrapolation of an excitation waveform in a sub-band predictive speech coder, such as an ITU-T Recommendation G.722 wideband speech coder. The systems and methods are useful for concealing the quality-degrading effects of packet loss in a sub-band predictive coder and address some sub-band architectural issues when applying excitation extrapolation techniques to such sub-band predictive coders.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses for integrated circuit packages and lead frames are provided. A quad flat no-lead (QFN) package includes a plurality of peripherally positioned pins, a die-attach paddle, an integrated circuit die, and an encapsulating material. The die-attach paddle is positioned within a periphery formed by the pins. The die is attached to the die-attach paddle. The encapsulating material encapsulates the die on the die-attach paddle, encapsulates bond wires connected between the die and the pins, and fills a space between the pins and the die-attach paddle. One or more of the pins are extended. An extended pin may be elongated, L shaped, T shaped, or “wishbone” shaped. The extended pin(s) enable wire bonding of additional ground, power, and I/O (input/output) pads of the die in a manner that does not significantly increase QFN package cost.

Abstract: A high-speed, low leakage-power Standard Cell Library is provided. The high-speed, low-leakage-power Standard Cell Library provides the extra drive-strength of a taller X-Track library (e.g., 14-Track library) and low leakage-power comparable to that of a smaller, N-Track library (e.g., 10-Track library). The high-speed, low leakage-power Standard Cell Library includes a set of cells each having a device area designed to provide maximum drive strength for the cell. The high-speed, low leakage-power Standard Cell Library further includes a second set of cells having varying device areas that provide reduced leakage power characteristics comparable to cells in the smaller, N-Track library. The modified reduced leakage-power cells are formed by adding padding to the cell to achieve a desired leakage-power characteristic of the cell.

Abstract: A system, method and apparatus are described herein that allow a mix computers or other devices that are configured for communication in accordance with different network layer protocols, such as Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) and Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), to share a single physical connection to a WAN. To achieve this, a networking device such as a router resides between a plurality of local devices and the physical connection to the WAN and routes network layer packets between the local devices and the WAN. The networking device determines whether each local device is IPv4-capable or IPv6-capable. Based on this determination, the networking device selectively applies Network Address Translation (NAT) and optional firewall functionality to network traffic originating from or destined for the IPv4-capable devices, while bypassing such functionality for IPv6 network traffic originating from or destined for the IPv6-capable devices.
Abstract: High speed, low power all CMOS thermometer-to-binary demultiplexer. A received signal undergoes digital sampling (e.g., as within an ADC) to generate a signal that subsequently undergoes encoding (e.g., transformation from thermometer encoded data to binary encoded data) and de-multiplexing. Two separate de-multiplexing stages are employed when performing combined encoding and de-multiplexing. In addition, the individual DEMUXs of the two stages are clocked using a distributed clock generation architecture, such that, reset and time-interleaving is controlled on the ADC clock generator. The thermometer-to-binary encoders are placed very close to the input stage which facilitates very fast data rates while consuming relatively lower power.
Abstract: A power generating circuit includes a rectifying module and a tuning module. The rectifying module is operably coupled to convert a radio frequency (RF) signal into a voltage. The tuning module is operably coupled to tune the rectifying module in accordance with the RF signal.

Abstract: Aspects of the invention may include a method updating a color look-up table (CLUT) for a next line of graphics before a current line of graphics has been completely read out of a graphics FIFO and assigned color pixel values. The method may include the step of formatting or arranging the CLUT into a plurality of sub-CLUTs. Each one of the sub-CLUTs may include pixel color values for each one of a plurality of pixels which may include a line of the graphics image data. Pixel color values may be read from within a first selected sub-CLUT, the first selected sub-CLUT comprising pixel color values for a first line of the graphics image data. The read pixel color value may be applied to the current first line of the graphics image data. While the read pixel color value is being applied to the current first line, pixel color values for a second selected sub-CLUT may be updated. The second selected sub-CLUT may include color pixel values for a second line of the graphics image data.

Abstract: A system and method for determining whether to process a signal using three-dimensional comb filtering. Various aspects of the present invention may comprise method steps and system components that generate an inter-frame chroma signal. Various aspects may generate a filtered inter-frame chroma signal by removing a band of frequency components from the inter-frame chroma signal that generally corresponds to chroma signal components. Various aspects may analyze the filtered inter-frame chroma signal to determine whether three-dimensional comb filtering may be appropriate. Various aspects may comprise method steps and components that generate inter-frame and intra-frame luma signals. Various aspects may generate filtered inter-frame and intra-frame luma signals by removing frequency components from the inter-frame and intra-frame luma signals, respectively, that fall outside a frequency band near the chroma sub-carrier frequency.

Abstract: A method and system for combining requests for data bandwidth by a data source for transmission of data over a wireless communication medium is provided. A central node receives one or more bandwidth requests from one or more data sources via wireless communication. A scheduler then combines one or more bandwidths requests from the same data source to create a single data burst bandwidth. The central node then grants the data burst bandwidth to the appropriate data source via wireless communication.
