  • Patent number: 12258235
Abstract: A supply roll stand for loading first and second supply rolls each including a core and dispensing material therefrom. The supply roll stand broadly comprises a frame, a lift support, an unwind assembly, and a transfer support. The lift support receives the first supply roll and raises the first supply roll. The unwind assembly unwinds the first supply roll as the lift support raises the first supply roll. The transfer support receives the first supply roll so that the first supply roll is transferred from the lift support. The lift support receives the second supply roll after the first supply roll is transferred to the transfer support. The transfer support dispatches the core of the first supply roll when the first supply roll is depleted of material. The unwind assembly unwinds the second supply roll when the first supply roll is depleted of material.

  • Publication number: 20250075982
Abstract: A syngas reforming exchanger reactor design is described. The reforming exchanger has a head, a shell, and a tubesheet secured a tube bundle. The tubesheet is bolted to the shell, after which the head is bolted to the shell. A seal is configured between the tubesheet and components of the shell. Another seal is configured between components of the head and the tubesheet. In the reformer exchanger design, those seals are maintained under bolted pressure via the bolting of both the tubesheet and the head to the shell. This design improves the integrity of sealing, thereby preventing escape of hot reformed gases from the reformer exchanger reactor during operation.

  • Patent number: 12241049
Abstract: This dual-compartment liver co-culture system exposes target microtissue to metabolites, allowing for evaluating toxicity using a standard multi-well plate for high throughput analysis. Discovery scientists can rapidly select lead compounds with desirable metabolic profiles, while safety scientists can determine the safety of drugs, pesticides, and environmental chemicals. This platform is allometrically scalable, so it can mimic the natural size differences between healthy organs and, with the liver, produce sufficient quantities of metabolites. The device is simple to use and designed for immediate in vitro pathology assessment using confocal microscopy, transcriptomics, and proteomics.

  • Patent number: 12239157
Abstract: A two stage system for extraction of oil from whole citrus fruit is provided. The first stage is known in the art and includes a first plurality of toothed rollers which convey citrus as the teeth penetrate and rupture oil glands. The oil passes into a first water pan. A novel second stage uses a second plurality of toothed rollers to continue the penetration and rupturing of oil glands. The second plurality of rollers are positioned in an isolated second pan to partially submerge the citrus. A middle phase liquor with extremely low oil concentration is transferred into said second pan to initiate desorption of oil from the citrus. The desorption technique in one embodiment increases yield by 4% or more. This technique is expected to increase yield even more as the recovery by the first stage is reduced.
