Abstract: A projecting electrode structure, having an electrode provided on a substrate, a first conductive layer provided on the electrode, an insulating projection provided at the center of the upper surface of the first conductive layer, the projection having the largest size smaller than the size of the upper surface, and a second conductive layer covering the surface of the projection and that part of the first conductive layer surrounding the projection and being electrically connected to the first conductive layer. A process for forming a projecting electrode includes the steps of providing the first conductive layer by vacuum deposition or spattering, providing the projection by photolithography, and providing the second conductive layer by vacuum deposition or spattering. This process eliminates the need for electroplating for forming the projecting electrode.
Abstract: A thin film transistor panel comprises a substrate, pixel electrodes arranged on the substrate in a matrix form, TFTs each having a source electrode connected to the associated pixel electrode, gate lines and data lines, both connected to the associated TFTs. An auxiliary electrode connected to the associated gate line and a capacitance compensation electrode are provided in such a manner as to cancel a change in gate-source capacitance caused by an alignment error in the manufacturing process. The capacitance compensation electrode is shifted by the same amount as the shift of the source electrode. When the facing area between the gate electrode and source electrode increases (or decreases) due to an alignment error in the manufacturing process, the facing area between the auxiliary electrode and capacitance compensation electrode decreases (or increases).
Abstract: An image projector comprises a liquid crystal display module and a light source both contained in a housing. The housing is formed with an inlet and an outlet, and is provided with a fan. An air flow channel is provided between the inlet and the outlet within the housing. There is provided a wind separator in the air flow channel, which separator separates cooling air such that cooling air flows separately towards the liquid crystal display module and the light source, for better cooling effect.
Abstract: A musical data inputting apparatus comprising a touch panel for receiving a hand-writing operation thereon detects a figure and/or a symbol drawn on the touch panel by the hand-writing operation, and further recognizes intensity of depression or the number of depressions applied on the touch panel by the hand-writing operation. The apparatus recognizes musical data such as pitches and lengths of notes, a tonality and/or a time of music based on the detected figure and symbol and the recognized intensity and number of depressions of the hand writing operation. Musical data can be input without precisely writing the whole of the musical data themselves on the touch panel.
Abstract: An electronic device has a plurality of segment drivers for driving a liquid crystal display panel and a control unit. Each of the segment drivers has a display memory for storing display data. The control unit outputs address data and display data when the control unit produces an image to be displayed on a display. In case the segment drivers receive address data, each segment driver determines whether it is addressed or not by decoding a data piece of the address data. Then, in case the segment drivers are addressed, they write the input display data in the display memory on the basis of the address data.
Abstract: Recorded data is read by an image sensor from a recording medium on which the data is two-dimensionally recorded in a mesh pattern, and the read data is stored in an image RAM. The stored data is subjected to data decoding and error correction to reproduce target data. A scanning reference pattern of a mesh pattern recorded on the recording medium serves as a guide when the stored recorded data read by the image sensor is reproduced by scanning in the image RAM. A reproduction apparatus has a capability of coping with a partial destruction of the scanning reference pattern. Error checking codes are added to the recording medium in addition to the target data. These items of data are recorded as an encoded image after being subjected to scrambling processing and randomization processing. The reproduction apparatus can easily cope with an error when the encoded image is reproduced.
Abstract: A portable radio apparatus comprises: a receiving unit for receiving message information transmitted by a radio wave; input/output terminals for transmitting/receiving information between the portable radio apparatus and an external device equipped with a data processing function; a storage unit for storing both of message information received by the receiving unit and the information inputted via the input/output terminals; a reading unit for selectively reading the information stored in the storage unit; and a display unit for displaying the information read from the reading unit. The apparatus fetches reception message information or the like stored in the storage unit via the input/output terminals so as to perform various processes such as display, correction and arrangement of the message information, and also other processes to store in the storage unit, information about telephone directory data and schedule data useful for the portable radio apparatus.
Abstract: An active matrix array of display elements and nine drain line drivers are formed on a substrate. The drain line drivers are separated into three groups each containing three drain line drivers. Individual drain lines are connected to different drain line drivers in a layout order. Clock signals, which are obtained by frequency-dividing a D-clock signal to one ninth and which have phases shifted from one another by 120 degrees, are supplied via three clock signal lines that commonly connect associated drain line drivers in the individual groups in parallel. All the drain line drivers in each group are connected in parallel by a data signal line. Thinned video data signals obtained by separating input video data by three are supplied via the three data signal lines group by group.
Abstract: A received data processing system is composed of a transmitter which includes a transmission unit which sends by radio sensor data such as a pulse rate obtained by a pulse sensor, a wrist watch which receives the sensor data from the transmitter using a reception unit and displays it on a display, and an external storage attached removably to the wrist watch for storing the received sensor data. Since the transmitter is attached closely to the human body to sense a pulse rate, detection of the pulse rate is ensured even if the user is in exercise. Since data on the pulse rate is stored in the removable external storage through the wrist watch, the system can process a large amount of data.
Abstract: A projector in which light emitted from a light source is made incident upon a transmission type picture panel and is projected onto a screen through a projection lens system having a condenser lens and an imaging lens. The condenser lens and the imaging lens are relatively movable with respect to the transmission type picture panel in an optical axis direction. Thus, when a projection distance from the projection lens system to the screen is varied, both the condenser lens and the imaging lens are relatively moved, with respect to the transmission type picture panel, to adjust a focus of the emitted light on the screen. A focusing method for the projector is also provided.
Abstract: Electric field adjusting layers each of which is different from an aligning film in at least one of a resistivity and a dielectric constant are formed in each pixel on a pixel electrode of a first substrate. An electric field applied to a liquid crystal partially changes in each pixel, and regions which are different from each other in aligned state are formed in each pixel. Therefore, a field angle is widened. A value .DELTA.n.d of the liquid crystal is preferably set to be 600 nm or more.
Abstract: A montage image creating apparatus which selectively designates one of the patterns of each of a plurality of parts which constitutes a human face, and which combines the respective designated part patterns to form a montage image of the face of a person. The apparatus selectively designates a pattern of at least one of a plurality of parts on the basis of a personality character designated by a character designating unit.
Abstract: Disclosed is a data processing apparatus by which, when an output level is designated and code conditions indicating target items at the time of extracting an output record are designated in the desired order in association with a plurality of items to obtain a desired slip, records that match with a plurality of code conditions are read from a predetermined file and are output in the designated order in association with the output level. Therefore, records that match with a plurality of code conditions will be grouped into a hierarchical structure as specified by simply designating code conditions indicating the target items in association with a plurality of items at the time of extracting the output level and output records.
Abstract: When punch-in is instructed, punch-in data is stored in a predetermined area of a hard disk. Data which is reproduced from a play back track is read in advance at a time earlier by a given time than a punch-out time and is stored in a buffer. When the punch-out time is reached, the data which was read in advance is read out for play back. In this manner, an audio signal is continuously generated even at the punch-out time.
Abstract: A drawing which is drawn on a personal computer includes plural drawing elements and is displayed on a display unit of the personal computer. An editing area and a location to which the editing area is moved are specified by means of a pointing device such as a mouse. Coordinates of the editing area are stored in an area memory. A relative moving distance is calculated from coordinates of the specified location. The calculated relative moving distance is stored in a moving distance memory. A coordinate changing process is effected using data stored in the area memory and the moving distance memory. In the coordinate changing process, it is judged whether individual drawing elements are located inside the editing area. The drawing element which is located inside the editing area is subjected to a moving process. When a drawing element is located across a boundary of the editing area, only a part of the drawing element that is located inside the editing area is moved to the specified location.

Abstract: A device for the creating and displaying an object image. A plurality of object images is created on the basis of a combination of part patterns on the respective parts of an object. A different object image related to the respective object images is synthesized from the plurality of created object images and displayed. An object image is created and displayed automatically which has a different shape imagined when the weight, height and intake calory of the created object image is increased/decreased. When a front object image is created, parts patterns for an object image on a different view corresponding to the front object image are designated and combined to create an object image on a different view.
Abstract: A CPU sequentially reads bit data on a figure stored in a character-to-be-converted area. When the last read bit data is "0" and the current read bit data is "1", the CPU saves into a character saving area that character data of character string data stored in a character processing area and pointed out by a pointer, then arranges the character data pointed out by the pointer in a corresponding position in a three-dimensional image creation area, and updates the pointer. When the last read bit data is "1" and the current read bit data is "0", the CPU inserts the character data saved in the character saving area at a position pointed out by the pointer in the character processing area, arranges the character data at a corresponding position in the three-dimensional image creation area, and updates the pointer.
