Patent number: 4656428Abstract: A step signal of which the period varies according to random data is derived from a step pulse generator, and is supplied to an address counter. By the output data from the address counter, an address of a waveform ROM is specified. From a waveform ROM, the waveform based on the random data is output in the form of a distorted waveform signal. Using this output signal of the distorted waveform, a cymbal sound, for example, is generated in a musical tone generator.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 1985Date of Patent: April 7, 1987Assignee: Casio Computer Co., Ltd.Inventor: Tomohisa Ishikawa

Patent number: 4653374Abstract: A digital pitch bend signal is supplied from an A/D converter to a first coefficient multiplier for every predetermined sampling period. An output of the first coefficient multiplier is added with an output of a second coefficient multiplier at an adder an output of which is delivered, as a digital pitch bend signal in the present cycle, from a buffer for the tone generation. The output of the adder is also fed back to an input of the second coefficient multiplier. Thus, from the buffer, a converted pitch bend signal having a value corrected during the respective sampling periods is produced.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 1985Date of Patent: March 31, 1987Assignee: Casio Computer Co., Ltd.Inventor: Akio Iba

Patent number: 4654874Abstract: An electronic device enters pattern data upon activating a matrix of keys with a finger. A comparing section compares measured data in a counter (register C) for measuring the time interval from the release of a key till the depression of the next key, with a value set in a memory (register E) for storing a predetermined externally set time interval. When the measured data in the counter reaches the set value in the memory, a character recognizing section performs character recognition on the entered data.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 1984Date of Patent: March 31, 1987Assignee: Casio Computer Co., Ltd.Inventor: Haruo Yamamoto

Patent number: 4650975Abstract: A plurality of secret data for identifying IC cards is stored in a memory which is provided in an IC circuit incorporated in the IC card. When an IC card is supplied to an issuer from a manufacturer, a sealed sheet on which a production master key (PMK) data is printed is separately sent to the issuer from the manufacturer. The PMK data printed on the sealed sheet is supplied to the IC card to be compared with a PMK data stored therein. The entrance of a primary account number (PAN) data to the IC card is allowed only when a coincidence signal is obtained. An initialization personal identification number (IPIN) data is printed on a sealed sheet which is separately sent to a card holder from the issuer. At the card holder's stage, the IPIN data and an IPIN data stored in the IC card are compared with each other. The registration of the personal identification number to the IC card may be performed only when a coincidence signal is obtained.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1984Date of Patent: March 17, 1987Assignee: Casio Computer Co., Ltd.Inventor: Robert A. Patent number: 4649481Abstract: An electronic cash register of the invention can provide a correlation between sales of items or commodities. The electronic cash register has a PLU code data memory. The PLU code data memory stores PLU code data of items purchased by each customer. In order to calculate the number of customers who buy at least one of two items, a CPU retrieves the contents of the PLU code data memory for each customer. When it is determined upon this retrieval operation that a given customer buys at least one of the two items, the corresponding customer number count is incremented by 1. When the retrieval operation is completely for all the contents stored in the PLU code data memory, the desired information is calculated. Similarly, by counting the number of customers who buy one or both of the two items, and the like, correlations between sales of items can be determined.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 1985Date of Patent: March 10, 1987Assignee: Casio Computer Co., Ltd.Inventor: Hiroshi Takahashi

Patent number: 4647156Abstract: A liquid crystal device of the present invention has a pair of liquid crystal substrates opposed to each other. A plurality of signal electrodes are formed on the inner surface of one of the paired liquid crystal substrates. Two scanning electrodes are formed on the inner suface of the other paired liquid crystal substrates. A liquid crystal material is interposed between the substrates. The liquid crystal material, signal electrodes and scanning electrodes form liquid crystal light shutters. The liquid crystal material is sealed only in a liquid crystal shutter section where the shutters are formed, so as to reduce capacitance between the signal and scanning electrodes. Materials which have a small dielectric constant are sealed in an area where the shutters are not formed between the signal and scanning electrodes.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 1985Date of Patent: March 3, 1987Assignee: Casio Computer Co., Ltd.Inventors: Koh Fujimura, Hisashi Aoki

Patent number: 4648115Abstract: An input musical tone signal is amplified by a first VCA and then supplied to second and third VCAs. The second and third VCAs are controlled by sine-wave signals which have a 180.degree.-phase difference. Musical tone signals, which have been so controlled that a pan-pot may move right and left, are supplied to right and left loudspeakers. The first VCA is controlled by a sine-wave signal whose phase is different by 90.degree. from the phases of the signals supplied to the second and third VCAs. The volume of a composite musical tone made up of the tones generated by the loudspeakers is thereby controlled, thus also moving the pan-pot to the front and rearward.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 1984Date of Patent: March 3, 1987Assignee: Casio Computer Co., Ltd.Inventor: Shigeo Sakashita

Patent number: 4644352Abstract: A radio wave data transmission apparatus comprises a plurality of switches, a data converter and a transmission section. The switches are selectively activated by a finger tip being moved as if to write a character, thereby providing data showing a character. The data converter converts this data into radio wave signals. These signals are transmitted from a transmission section.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 1985Date of Patent: February 17, 1987Assignee: Casio Computer Co., Ltd.Inventor: Hiroshi Fujii

Patent number: 4643068Abstract: When the fill-in key and synchro start key are operated, an output of an inverter causes an AND gate to inhibit the resetting of a flip-flop by an output of a bar clock generator. In consequence, a fill-in rhythm is sounded continuously with a pattern selector driven by the set output of the flip-flop. When an accompaniment play key is operated at a desired instant in this situation, an output of a key depression detection circuit is fed through an AND gate and an OR gate to the reset input terminal of the flip-flop. As a result, the address of a ROM designated by the pattern selector, is changed to start sounding of normal rhythm.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 1985Date of Patent: February 17, 1987Assignee: Casio Computer Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hiroko Okuda, Keiichi Sakurai, Junichi Minamitaka

Patent number: 4641156Abstract: In the recording apparatus of this invention, liquid crystal light shutter operates by using the double frequency drive. The double frequency drive utilizes signals of a high frequency f.sub.H and lower frequency f.sub.L. The dielectric anisotropy of liquid crystal matrial becomes positive in the case of the frequency f.sub.L lower than crossover frequency f.sub.C and becomes negative in the case of the frequency f.sub.H higher than the frequency f.sub.C. When the data signal including the signal of the frequency f.sub.L for a final period of a writing cycle Tw, is applied to write selection electrodes and data signal electrodes, liquid crystal light shutter is kept open for the final period of the writing cycle Tw, namely, opening or closing state of the shutter which is caused during a selection period can be eliminated.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 1984Date of Patent: February 3, 1987Assignees: Casio Computer Co., Ltd., Casio Electronics Manufacturing Co., Ltd.Inventors: Morio Ohta, Shizuo Tsuchiya, Yoshito Nakano, Masaru Aikawa, Seiji Asaumi
