Abstract: An instrument for making a ribbon embellishment is provided. The instrument is made up of a ring-shaped plate, and a plurality of extensions each extending from the ring-shaped plate toward the center of the circular plate. The plurality of extensions include a first extension, a second extension and a third extension, and the first extension has a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface. In plan view, the second extension faces the first surface of the first extension, and the third extension faces the second surface of the first extension.
Abstract: A seam ripper includes a metal blade member, a handle and a slider. The blade member is supported by the handle and made of a shaft and a blade part at an end of the shaft. The slider causes the blade member to move between a retracted position and an advanced position. The shaft is housed in the handle at the retracted position. The blade part and at least a portion of the shaft are outside the handle at the advanced position. The blade part includes a cutting blade flanked by a needle portion and a ball-shaped portion. When the blade member is at the retracted position, the entirety of the needle portion is housed in the handle, and a portion of the cutting blade is exposed to the outside of the handle.
Abstract: A handicraft roller, used for pressing a piece of cloth to put a sharp crease or fold in the fabric, includes an elongated grip with first and second ends spaced from each other in the longitudinal direction of the grip. A rolling member is attached to the first end of the grip so as to be rotatable about a predetermined axis. The rolling member is made up of a constant diameter portion and two decreasing diameter portions flanking the constant diameter portion. The constant diameter portion has an outer diameter that remains constant over a predetermined length of the axis. Each of the decreasing diameter portions has an outer diameter that decreases with increasing distance from the constant diameter portion along the axis.

Abstract: A presser foot for a sewing machine has a bottom wall, first and second side walls, and a guard piece. The bottom wall has front and rear ends. In addition, the bottom wall is provided with a needle-passing hole and a first slit extending from the needle-passing hole to the front end. The first side wall and the second side wall are formed integral with the bottom wall and spaced apart from each other in a width direction of the bottom wall. The guard piece is attached to the first side wall to cover the gap between the first side wall and the second side wall from above. In plan view, the guard piece is spaced from the needle-passing hole and does not overlap with the needle-passing hole. The guard piece and the second side wall are spaced apart from each other by a second slit.
Abstract: A caddy for sewing items includes a hollow housing, and first/second elongated permanent magnets contained in the housing. The second magnet is arranged in parallel to and spaced from the first magnet. The housing includes first/second attracting surfaces and an elongated groove between the first and second attracting surfaces. The first magnet has an upper surface S-pole corresponding to the first attracting surface, and the second magnet has an upper surface N-pole corresponding to the second attracting surface. The groove extends in parallel to the first/second magnets and has a first longitudinal edge connected to the first attracting surface and a second longitudinal edge connected to the second attracting surface. The first and second longitudinal edges are curved so that their center portion is higher than other portions as viewed in the direction in which the first/second magnets are spaced apart from each other.
Abstract: An assisting tool is provided for making a tufted ornament having a bunch of threads. The assisting tool includes a first frame and a second frame that form a generally rectangular shape when assembled. The first and second frames have first and second thread hanging portions, respectively, that are spaced apart from each other in a first direction. Each thread hanging portion extends in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The assisting tool further includes a length adjuster for adjustably varying the length in the first direction from the first thread hanging portion to the second thread hanging portion by allowing the first and second frames to slide toward or away from each other.
Abstract: A yarn twisting device is simple in structure but capable of easily producing twisted yarn made of a plurality of yarn pieces twisted together. The yarn twisting device includes: a case; an operation wheel rotatably supported by the case so that an outer circumference of the operation wheel is partly exposed outside the case; and a plurality of yarn holding shafts supported by the case so as to protrude from one surface of the case and that axially rotate with the rotation of the operation wheel in the same direction.
Abstract: A knitting marker is configured to be suspended from a yarn of the knit piece being made or from the knitting needle being used in the knitting. The knitting marker includes a main body, which may be a generally flat strip, and a suspension connected to the main body. The suspension may be in the form of a hook or a ring, configured to be suspended from a yarn or a knitting needle. The knitting maker also includes an information bearer that is connected stably or loosely to the main body for carrying information presented by symbols such as letters, numerals, and figures.
Abstract: A handicraft weaving loom with improved usability is provided. The weaving loom includes a main body having a pair of edge portions that are spaced apart from each other in a predetermined first direction. Each edge portion extends elongated in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The weaving loom further includes a yarn catch member provided with a yarn catch portion for holding threads in parallel. The yarn catch member is detachably attached to one of the two edge portions.
