  • Publication number: 20100064148
Abstract: A universal series bus (USB) power supply has a DC power source, a USB power interface and a voltage modulation module. The USB power interface is for connecting to an electronic device that stores a default D+ voltage and a default D? voltage. The voltage modulation module connects to and outputs signals to the D+ and D? terminals of the USB power interface. If voltage levels of the output signals are not respectively identical to the default D+ and D? voltages, the voltage modulation module changes the voltage levels of the signals output to the D+ and D? terminals of the USB power interface until the voltage levels of the output signals are respectively identical to the default D+ and D? voltages. Therefore, the USB power supply may be applied to any kind of electronic device that is charged over a USB interface.

  • Patent number: 7632152
Abstract: A DC/AC adapter assembly has a DC/AC adapter and a cable. The cable transmits a power-overloading signal to the DC/AC adapter indicating whether power-overloading is occurring in the cable. The DC/AC adapter includes a controller circuit for controlling and adjusting an output alternating current of the DC/AC adapter based on the power-overloading signal to reduce power-overloading occurring in the cable.

  • Publication number: 20090059636
Abstract: A power adapter has a body, a pair of blades, a DC output terminal, an AC to DC circuit, a node and a storage unit. The blades are mounted in and protrude from the body to connect to an AC power source to obtain AC power. The DC output terminal is mounted on the body to connect to a load. The AC to DC circuit is mounted in the body, converts the AC power into DC power and has an input terminal and an output terminal. The node is defined between the DC output terminal and the AC to DC circuit. The storage unit is connected to the node to store the DC power output from the AC to DC circuit and provide a stored DC output to the DC output terminal.

  • Patent number: 7458847
Abstract: A connection assembly for offsetting tilting caused by weight difference between two objects includes a first male connector, a second male connector linearly misaligned with the first male connector, a first female connector and a second female connector linearly misaligned with the first female connector. Both the first and second male connectors are formed on a first object and both the first and second female connectors are formed on a second object. Due to the misaligned relationship, weight of the combination between the first object and the second object is redistributed to avoid tilting.

  • Patent number: 7413462
Abstract: A shell for an electrical appliance includes a base, a cover, and a plug-receiving assembly. The plug-receiving assembly includes a recess attached to the cover for receiving a plug of the electrical appliance. The recess has a bottom and two opposing sides. The bottom supports the plug, and the opposing sides have protrusions for retaining the plug in the recess. The plug-receiving assembly further includes a slanted guide formed on the bottom of the recess for guiding the plug in the recess. A user may remove the plug from the recess by the pulling an electrical wire attached to the plug to move the plug along the slanted guide and out from the recess. Additionally, the plug-receiving assembly may include a mounting grove adjacent to the slanted guide for retaining the electrical wire.

  • Patent number: 7300316
Abstract: An electrical connecting assembly has an electrical appliance and a connector. The electrical appliance has at least one surface, a positive electrode plug and a negative electrode plug. The plugs are mounted separately on the surface. The connector connects to the electrical appliance and has two electrical wires and an anti-error sheath. The electrical wires respectively have a positive electrode socket and a negative electrode socket. The positive and negative electrode sockets connect respectively to the positive and negative electrode plugs. The anti-error sheath connects to one of the sockets and has a socket sheath with mounting key protruding longitudinally from the socket sheath. The mounting key ensures that the socket on the wire on which the anti-error sheath is connected can only be plugged onto the correct plug.

  • Patent number: 7258580
Abstract: An electrical adapter assembly has a cable and an adapter. The cable has a distal end having a plug and a proximal end having a connector. The connector comprises a shell having an inner space, a first end and a second end having an output hole allowing the cable to be mounted in the inner space. The second end of the connector has an outer surface, a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a thermal sensor mounted in the inner space of the connector. The adapter connects to the cable and has a circuit board and a socket corresponding to the plug. Because the thermal sensor can sense the temperature in the connector and cut off the current when the temperature is too high, the cable will not be damaged and users will not be in danger.

  • Patent number: 7017055
Abstract: A hub supplying power actively includes an active power supply device having a battery charger, a storage battery, a DC/DC converter, and a control circuit. The hub is connected to a USB of a computer to receive direct current (DC) of the USB. When power demand of the hub is lower than the DC power supply of the USB, the power is supplied by the USB and the storage battery is charged via the battery charger simultaneously. When power demand of the hub is higher than the DC power supply of the USB, the storage battery discharges electricity and supplies power after conversion by the DC/DC converter. When the hub is disconnected to the computer, a power adapter is connected externally to rectify mains electricity and to charge battery. The charged battery outputs the power to supply for the connected peripheral equipment after converting the electricity into direct current.
