  • Publication number: 20130226363
Abstract: A shut-down controlling system for power distribution unit (PDU) has a computer a PDU and multiple electric apparatus connected to the PDU. The PDU has multiple outlets and stores a shut-down controlling procedure and a shut-down period for each of the outlet. The PDU automatically communicates with the electric apparatus and obtains the actual shut-down period of the present electric apparatus. The PDU further determines whether the preset shut-down period is larger than the actual shut-down. If yes, the PDU cuts out the AC power source of the selected outlet when the preset shut-down period is achieved. If not, the PDU cancels the shut-down command and notifies the computer. Therefore, a manager will resets the shut-down period of the selected outlet to ensure that each electric apparatus has enough time to complete the shut-down procedure.

  • Publication number: 20130154545
Abstract: An uninterruptible power supply having efficiency power conversion has an AC to DC power conversion circuit, a battery power conversion circuit and a control circuit. The AC to DC power conversion circuit is parallelly connected to the battery power conversion circuit to convert the AC power of an AC mains into a DC power and supply the DC power to a load. When the AC mains stably supplies power, the control circuit controls to activate the AC to DC power conversion circuit and supply power to the load through the AC to DC power conversion circuit only. As there is only one power conversion between the AC mains and the load, the power conversion efficiency can be enhanced.

  • Publication number: 20120317428
Abstract: A method of remotely controlling power distribution units enables the power distribution units to automatically transmit messages to a server once connected to the server via a network. When a user logs into a server and requests to remotely control the associated power distribution units, the user only needs to enter the serial numbers or identification data thereof. The server then automatically searches for all power distribution units owned by the user, and provides a group management interface. The user can then group the power distribution units according to their locations or their properties in order to control the on and off thereof. Without knowing the IP addresses of the power distribution units, the user can readily control the power distribution units at different locations remotely.

  • Patent number: 8314593
Abstract: A power-saving line interactive UPS has a power switch set, a low-frequency transformer, a full-bridge circuit, a main controller, a charge and discharge mode controller, a rechargeable battery and a high-frequency charging circuit. The high-frequency circuit is connected between an AC power input terminal and the rechargeable battery to convert the AC power into a DC power and charge the rechargeable battery. Therefore, when the AC power is normally supplied and the power capacity of the rechargeable battery is not full, the high-frequency charging circuit is activated to charge the rechargeable battery without charging the rechargeable battery through the low-frequency transformer and the full-bridge switching circuit, thereby effectively reducing overall power consumption.

  • Patent number: 8233296
Abstract: A front-end circuit of a power converter has a power connection wiring detecting circuit, a power switch and a control unit. The power connection wiring detecting circuit is connected to an AC power. The control unit is connected to the power connection wiring detecting circuit. The power switch is connected to the power loop. The control unit turns on or off the AC power loop through the power switch. When the power connection wiring is correctly connected with the AC power, the control unit turns on the power switch and the front-end circuit outputs the AC power to the back-end circuit. When the power connection wiring is incorrectly connected with the AC power, the control unit turns off the power switch and the AC power is not outputted to the back-end circuit.

  • Patent number: 7982339
Abstract: A controlling method of a battery mode of a UPS for an active PFC power supply has the following acts of monitoring the AC power source and determining whether the AC power source is terminated or not, wherein if a determining result is positive, the controlling method proceeds to next act, and switching to the battery mode and converting a DC power source of a battery to a square wave. The square wave has a period, and each half of the period is alternately constituted by at least two ON times and at least two OFF times, and each of the at least two OFF times is equal to or less than a hold-up time of the active PFC load having a hold-up time circuit. Therefore, the voltage of the bulk capacitor of the active PFC power supply under a discharge condition is not lower than the low threshold voltage, since the OFF time of the square wave signal will be kept equal to or less than the hold-up time.

  • Patent number: 7917781
Abstract: A universal series bus (USB) power supply has a DC power source, a USB power interface and a voltage modulation module. The USB power interface is for connecting to an electronic device that stores a default D+ voltage and a default D? voltage. The voltage modulation module connects to and outputs signals to the D+ and D? terminals of the USB power interface. If voltage levels of the output signals are not respectively identical to the default D+ and D? voltages, the voltage modulation module changes the voltage levels of the signals output to the D+ and D? terminals of the USB power interface until the voltage levels of the output signals are respectively identical to the default D+ and D? voltages. Therefore, the USB power supply may be applied to any kind of electronic device that is charged over a USB interface.
