Under a battery mode, the UPS boosts DC voltage outputted from the battery pack to a higher voltage level through a DC-to-DC conversion module, converts the DC voltage to a sinusoidal AC voltage through a DC-to-AC conversion module, and supplies the sinusoidal AC voltage to a load. When the load has energy storage elements and discharged energy occurs in a power supply loop, a micro-controller unit can control the discharged power to charge the battery pack through a second charger, thereby solving the issue of the discharged power from the energy storage elements of the load and enhancing the operational efficiency of the UPS.

    Abstract: A surge protection device has a pulse controlled switch, a pulse generation circuit and an abnormal voltage detection circuit. The surge control switch is connected in series to a power line loop and has at least one control terminal respectively connected to output terminals of the pulse generation circuit and the abnormal voltage detection circuit. An output terminal of the abnormal voltage detection circuit is connected to the power line loop and is located in the back end of the pulse controlled switch. The pulse generation circuit serves to send a pulse to the pulse controlled switch to close the pulse controlled switch and connect to the power line loop. When continuously detecting abnormal voltage in the power line loop, the abnormal voltage detection circuit opens the pulse controlled switch and disconnects from the power line loop so as to protect back-end equipment or circuit.

    Abstract: An interruptible power supply with a power isolation circuit loop has a base with a battery chamber defined in the base, a fixed top cover, and a movable top cover. The battery chamber serves to receive a battery. The fixed top cover and the movable top cover are mounted on two ends of the base, and the movable top cover corresponds to the battery chamber. The fixed top cover has a loop switch therein connected with a power loop and having an actuation member to switch on or off the power loop. When the movable top cover is mounted on the base, an urging member formed on the movable top cover triggers the actuation member of the loop switch to connect with the power loop. When the movable top cover is removed, the power loop is disconnected. Accordingly, the UPS is economical in terms of parts, cost and space utilization.

The method is performed by the controller after the grid-connected power supply system is started and has steps of determining if each power supply module outputs power, activating each power supply module and charging an energy storage capacitor of the power supply module, and activating the relay when the stored voltages of the energy storage capacitors of all the power supply modules are greater than a preset peak voltage of the mains power. Accordingly, required number of relays is reduced and the size of the system can thus be more compact.
