  • Patent number: 9178723
Abstract: The present invention is applicable to a gateway device, which is configured with an icon list storing a plurality of icons each corresponding to a specific network device type and is able to search for all active or passive network devices currently connected thereto, read basic data of each network device thus found, read the icon corresponding to each network device from the icon list, and then convert the icons thus read and the basic data of each network device found into a web page message for creating a network device map web page. Thus, when the gateway device sends the web page message to the active network device, a user of the active network device can see each icon on the network device map web page by using a browser and instantly know the network devices currently connected to the gateway device and their basic data.

  • Publication number: 20150281656
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a safety monitoring system, which includes a plurality of terminal devices (e.g., smartphones) each configured to wirelessly and periodically send out a report message and a home server storing positioning data created according to the strengths of signals transmitted by each terminal device from different locations within an indoor environment (e.g., an apartment) respectively. According to the positioning data, the home server divides the indoor environment into a plurality of monitoring areas (e.g., living room, bathrooms, kitchen . . . ). When the home server receives the report message and determines the monitoring area where each terminal device is located according to the positioning data, the home server uploads entry of identification data and the monitoring area corresponding to each terminal device to a cloud server through the Internet. Thus, the current status of the carrier of each terminal device can be checked through the cloud server.

  • Publication number: 20140204775
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a route selection method which is applicable to a network connection device capable of receiving or transmitting a network packet through at least two heterogeneous networks. Upon receiving the packet, the device performs route performance detection to obtain the current transmission delay rate of each of the heterogeneous networks, and then determines whether the packet is highly sensitive to transmission delay or has a re-transmission mechanism. When it is determined that the packet is highly sensitive to transmission delay or doesn't have the re-transmission mechanism, the device chooses from the plural heterogeneous networks the one with a relatively low transmission delay rate as the route through which to transmit the packet to the Internet; otherwise, the device chooses from the plural heterogeneous networks the one with a relatively high transmission delay rate as the route through which to transmit the packet to the Internet.

  • Publication number: 20140192818
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a network connection method applicable to a network system including a client device and a plurality of source devices, wherein the client device is connected to the Internet through a first connection route (e.g., a power-line network or a cable network) and a second connection route (e.g., a WiFi wireless network) respectively so as to establish a connection channel with each source device, and the client device is able to analyze a data packet received from the source device to determine whether the data packet contains highly delay-sensitive data (e.g., audio/video data and communication data) or delay-insensitive data (e.g., webpage data). When it is determined that the data packet contains highly delay-sensitive data, the data packet is transmitted to the client device through the first connection route which is more stable than the second connection route, otherwise, through the second connection route instead.

  • Patent number: 8773979
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a system for assisting a user in troubleshooting network connection problems, which includes a main terminal device (e.g., a computer) and a mediation device (e.g., a router) connected to the main terminal device and storing an assisting web page. Upon receiving a web page request instruction from the main terminal device, the mediation device redirects the web page request instruction to a website address. When the mediation device determines that itself is not connected to the Internet (i.e., a network connection problem occurs), the mediation device will send the assisting web page to the main terminal device. The assisting web page is displayed by the main terminal device through a browser thereof, so as for the user to troubleshoot the network connection problem according to the steps specified in the assisting web page (e.g., to perform a line inspection, a light signal check, etc.).
