  • Patent number: 4301493
Abstract: The following specification describes a panelboard assembly comprising a plurality of modular insulators having spaced integrally formed resilient mounting rails for supporting a circuit breaker housing above the panelboard bus bars. Each circuit breaker is connected to a bar carrying current of one phase and on tripping may generate ionized arc gases that exit the arc chute passage and engage a bus bar carrying current of another phase. A thermoplastic insulating material is interposed in the path between the arc chute passage and a bus bar carrying current of another phase. A bend is also introduced in the bus bars intermediate their ends to force an insulating member interposed between the bus bars and a cabinet wall against the cabinet wall.

  • Patent number: 4298548
Abstract: In a carburetor the fuel jet system opening into the intake pipe of the engine comprises an emulsion well supplied with air and fuel and a device for correcting the fuel/air ratio of the mixture supplied to the engine as a function of the amplitude of the alternating pressure variations caused by the suction of the engine in the intake pipe. The correcting device comprises a movable wall defining a chamber which communicates with the emulsion well and to which the alternating pressure variations are applied through an attenuator. The device adjusts the depression in the emulsion well for increasing or reducing the amplitude of the alternating component of the pressure which is communicated thereto from the opening of the fuel jet system according as to whether the acoustic matching of the carburetor-engine manifold assembly tends to produce an excessive or insufficient fuel/air ratio under high load.

  • Patent number: 4298253
Abstract: Method and apparatus for presenting test images to a subject at different distances and a constant visual angle. The test indicia are located at a single predetermined distance from the viewer. An optical system is provided between the test indicia and the viewer for including a lens system and at least one reflecting element or plane mirror. Displacements of the lens system along its optic axis and the plane mirror(s) along an axis parallel to a continuation of the lens system optic axis are coordinated so that the visual angle for the viewer remains the same regardless of the distance of the test image from the viewer. A single set of test indicia may be used for all potential image distances without having to vary the visual angle.

  • Patent number: 4297844
Abstract: Device for hydraulic control of thrust reversal units activated by jacks in jet engine. The jacks are connected to a rotary hydraulic engine fed by a hydraulic circuit which involves a mechanism for slowing down the speed of the reversal units when they approach the stop units. The hydraulic circuit allows for directly subjecting the engine's capacity to the opposing load on the engine. Application of this invention is possible to a dual flow turbojet in which the reversal units rotate in the cold flow.
