  • Patent number: 11097068
Abstract: A safety needle having a rigid outer structure within which there is a cannula holding element of being movably coupled to an injector pen for a drug is provided. The cannula holding element supports a cannula having a first extremity and a second extremity for administration of the drug. A moving protective element associated with the rigid structure, covers the second extremity of the cannula after administration, with provision being made for a deforming member capable of deforming the cannula after administration of the drug so that the second extremity of the cannula remains within the protective element. The deforming member is associated with the protective element and is capable of rotating autonomously with respect thereto after administration of the drug to deform the cannula.

  • Patent number: 11100302
Abstract: A system and method for verifying price and product information displayed on tags for products on a shelf in a retail store. A retailer management server stores data relating to products including stored prices for the products and planogram information, for example. A hand-held portable terminal is configured to communicate with the server and verify data on a shelf tag. The terminal includes a scanner for scanning barcodes/UPCs/GTINs on a shelf tag associated with a product of a manufacturer, as well as the barcode on the product. The system processes and compares the scanned information of the shelf tag, including price information and optionally location data, with stored information for the product as obtained from the server, and issues an alarm (sound or vibration) from the hand-held device if the compared data is incorrect or inconsistent (i.e., not the same).

  • Publication number: 20210258581
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for image compression, particularly to an improved block-coding apparatus and method for image compression. Image compression systems such as JPEG and JPEG2000 are known and popular standards for image compression. Many of the advantageous features of JPEG2000 derive from the use of the EBCOT algorithm (Embedded Block-Coding with Optimized Truncation). One drawback of the JPEG2000 standards is computational complexity. This application discloses a relatively fast block-coding algorithm, particularly as compared with the standard JPEG2000 EBCOT algorithm. Computational complexity is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20210256598
Abstract: Machine learning-based approaches are used to create instances or visualizations of content appearing within an object in an image. For example, a user may submit a request for a preview or visualization of content within an object or other media such as a glass crystal. A trained model can process the content to generate adjustment data or other data that can be used to control image blending operations. The adjustment data can be applied to the pixel values of the content to modify the content in order to enable a visualization of the content within an object. The image portion can be modified such that the object appears to “blend” with and appear within the object. Image transformation techniques can be used to project the modified content onto a representation of an object. Thereafter, a visualization or preview of the content within the representation of the object can be presented.

Abstract: An end joining piece (4) for a windscreen wiper for a glazed surface of a motor vehicle is disclosed. The end piece has at least a receipt receptacle (410) for receiving an end part of a longitudinal vertebra (20), and at least one flexible tongue (6a, 6b) which is configured to go from a first, position of rest, to a second, retracted position, by displacement in a first direction (F2a, F2b) during the insertion of the longitudinal vertebra in the receipt receptacle (410), the flexible tongue including an engagement ramp along which the vertebra is made to thrust, to provide the tongue with its second, retracted position. The engagement ramp (620a, 620b) has an inclination which is configured to exert on the longitudinal vertebra a force which tends to displace this vertebra in a second direction (F3a, F3b), which, together with the first direction of displacement, forms a non-zero angle.

  • Patent number: 11092380
Abstract: A method of drying frac sand without heat is comprised of constructing a drainage system and placing sand on top of a perforated top layer thereon. The drainage system has multiple layers through which liquid passes to dewater sand resting thereon. At the bottom of the drainage system, perforated collection pipes, at least partially surrounded by rocks, collect and carry the liquid to a collection pond for reuse. A cellular confinement layer has sections of panels which, upon expansion, have cells filled with rocks. A woven monofilament geotextile fabric layer comprising woven monofilament geotextile fabric sheets sewn together has sized openings which allow fluid, but prevent sand from passing through the openings. The top layer comprises high density polyethylene perforated sheets welded together. A watertight liner sits below the collection pipes and the cellular confinement layer. Protective layers above and below the watertight liner prevent rocks from damaging same.
