  • Patent number: 9737849
Abstract: A method and apparatus for cleaning and recycling stack gas from coal-fired power plants, from natural or propane burning heating plants, or from cement kilns by using renewable catalysts of zeolite to separate pollutants into recyclable and reusable materials. The method reduces from the stack gas carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxide (NOx), sulfur oxide (SOx) as well as halogens such as chloride and fluorides and trace metals particularly, mercury, lead, and zinc. The method and apparatus also result in production of fertilizer products by purging with gaseous or liquid nitrogen the zeolite beds through which the stack gas flows. • Patent number: 9739950
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for constructing a light coupling system wherein a grating is manufactured on the surface of a multimode waveguide and defines the entrance of the waveguide for an incident light beam, said grating comprising a repetition of patterns. The grating is defined by a set of parameters comprising: •grating period (P), separating two adjacent patterns, •grating depth (d) between the highest and the lowest point of the pattern, •incident angle mean value (?) of the incident light with respect to the waveguide. The method comprises a step of optimization of the set of parameters to obtain an optimized second set of parameters, in order to obtain a transmission efficiency (Ce) of the incident light into said waveguide for the first or the second diffractive order exceeding 35% for unpolarized light, or exceeding 50% for polarized light, at a given wavelength of the incident light.

  • Patent number: 9742091
Abstract: A method and structure is provided for constructing elastomeric pin arrays using solder interconnects and a non-conductive medium. Pin to pin interconnects are constructed using a solder connection through a non-conductive medium. This structure eliminates the need for PCB structures as the medium, reducing manufacturing cost. In another embodiment one or more elastomeric columns extend through holes or openings in the non conductive medium. The elastomeric columns are fixed securely within the holes preferably with adhesive material. Compression stops are provided on both sides of each elastomeric column for both the upper and bottom surfaces of the non conductive medium.

  • Publication number: 20170235049
Abstract: Optical fiber assemblies for filtering of higher-order modes include a winding support and an optical fiber wound along a winding path on the winding support. The optical fiber is configured to support a fundamental transverse mode and one or more higher-order transverse modes. The optical fiber has a longitudinal fiber axis, a core, a cladding surrounding the core, a transverse cross-section lacking circular symmetry, and a rotation imparted thereto about the longitudinal fiber axis. The rotation and winding of the optical fiber provide stronger attenuation of the one or more higher-order transverse modes as compared to the fundamental transverse mode. In some implementations, the winding path has a non-constant radius of curvature. In other implementations, the optical fiber has a diameter larger than 10 micrometers and at least one stress-applying part arranged in the cladding about the core. Methods perform higher-order-mode filtering.

  • Publication number: 20170237421
Abstract: An electronic circuit is for switching a power transistor having a drain coupled to a drain node, a source coupled to a lower voltage supply, and a gate coupled to a gate node. The electronic circuit includes first current generation circuitry to generate a first current to flow into the gate node in response to assertion off an ON signal, the first current being substantially constant. Second current generation circuitry generates a second current to flow into the gate node in response to deassertion of an OFF signal, the second current being inversely proportional to a gate to source voltage of the power transistor. First comparison circuitry compares a drain voltage at the drain node to a reference voltage, and activates third current generation circuitry to generate a third current to flow into the gate node when the drain voltage is less than the reference voltage.
