Abstract: The invention discloses a receiver of GNSS positioning signals which has embedded computer logic to select between a first operating mode, which uses all available frequencies, and a second operating mode, which uses only part of the available frequencies but in combination with available correction data. The selection is based on a comparison of an index of quality of reception at the receiver and a computed or predicted precision/confidence level of the corrections. A plurality of corrections types are possible, including a type using a local model and a type using collaborative corrections. In some embodiments, a selection and/or a combination of a plurality of local models may be made to optimize the accuracy of the corrections.

  • Publication number: 20160367647
Abstract: Ophthalmic conditions such as presbyopia, myopia, and astigmatism can be corrected by the use of a molding contact lens in combination with a pharmaceutical composition suitable for delivery to the eye. The molding contact lenses are preferably commercially available and are not specifically designed for orthokeratology. The agents in the pharmaceutical compositions such as hyaluronase allow the cornea of the eye to be molded in order to correct the refractive error of the eye. The contact lenses and the pharmaceutical composition induce a change in the radius of curvature of the anterior surface of the cornea, thereby correcting the refractive error of the eye. One advantage of the inventive technique is that the patient with his or her own individual visual needs guides the treatment until the patient near and far visual needs are met.

  • Patent number: 9525385
Abstract: Limiting clipping in an amplifier is accomplished in the feedback loop of a class D PWM amplifier that includes an integrator coupled to an input node and configured to generate an integrated input signal such that a comparator may then generate a PWM signal for driving an amplifier output stage based on a comparison to a triangle wave signal. To this end, the amplifier also includes a threshold signal generator for generating high and low voltage thresholds based on the triangle wave signal to be used to engage compensation circuits for limiting the overall amplification. Such compensation circuits may be bipolar junction transistors that are disposed in the feedback loop of the integrator. Thus, the overall bandwidth of the amplifier itself is not affected by adding a limiter circuit aimed at reducing clipping.

  • Patent number: 9523766
Abstract: A method for phase error correction in a synthetic aperture (SA) imaging system is configured to image a target region of a scene from a platform in relative movement with respect to the scene. The method includes acquiring target SA data from the target region and reference SA data from a reference region of the scene, using a SA acquisition unit. One or more phase correction factors are determined from the reference SA data based on an assumption that the reference region has a known topography. The phase correction factors are representative of uncompensated optical-path-length fluctuations along the optical path between the reference region and the SA acquisition unit mounted on the platform. A phase correction is applied to the target SA data based on the phase correction factors so as to obtain phase-corrected target SA data. A SA imaging system implementing the method is also disclosed.
