Abstract: The plug guide comprises a bore for receiving a nail comprising a head and a shaft onto which a skirt is slid, the bore having a passing section determined so that the head and the skirt of the nail cause it to be guided therein, a recess being provided in the front part of the plug guide for ejecting and expanding the guiding skirt. The recess comprises at least one radial bulge projecting inside, for extending the wall of the bore of the plug guide and forming a narrowing for guiding the nail. This invention further relates to a fastening device comprising the plug guide.

Abstract: Disclosed is a control method for a digital ink-jet printing device to carry out multicolor ink-jet printing on an intermittent rotary printing device. The method includes: determining whether a current page is the first page; if yes, calculating a length of an image to be printed on the current page by subtracting a distance between an imaging component group and a reference from a length of a page, wherein the reference is the foremost printing imaging component group in a movement direction of a printed body, and acquiring image data of the current page, the length of which is the calculated length, after delaying the distance; if no, acquiring unprinted image data of a previous page, the length of which is the distance, and image data of the current page, the length of which is the calculated length.

Abstract: The grinding surface of a grinding stone is formed from a circular conical surface, a drive device for rotation is installed within a housing. The blade of a cutting tool is ground while the longitudinal direction of the cutting tool is aligned with the direction of a generating line of the grinding surface. When grinding the blade, the cutting tool can be aligned with the direction of the generating line of the grinding surface and the blade can be brought in contact with the grinding surface without the handle of the cutting tool and the hand that holds the cutting tool being interfered with the grinder. This is achieved irrespective of in which one of the directions of lines the tip of the blade faces, the lines being obtained by extending the generating line of the grinding surface from both ends of the generating line.
Abstract: An embodiment of a method includes generating a regulated output signal from a regulated intermediate signal in response to a reference signal and the regulated output signal, and generating the regulated intermediate signal from an input signal in response to the regulated output signal and the regulated intermediate signal. By generating one regulated signal (e.g., a regulated output voltage) from another regulated signal (e.g., a regulated intermediate voltage), the magnitude of the ripple component of the one regulated signal may be reduced. Furthermore, by generating the regulated intermediate signal in response to the regulated output signal, the efficiency of the regulation may be increased.
Abstract: Voice verification systems for controlling access to electronic accounts using spoken utterances are disclosed. These systems include a database of words and a sentence synthesis engine that uses the dictionary to construct challenge sentences. A challenge logic routine selects a challenge sentence and processes a spoken response from an entity to determine if the entity is authorized to access an electronic account. Both human and machine spoken utterances can be processed as responses, and in some embodiments, the entity may be an automated agent authorized by a human to conduct transactions in said electronic account.

Abstract: An elliptical exercise device has a frame supporting guide links and foot support links. A cam system has a horizontal control cam portion with a first and second offset horizontal drive portion. Horizontal control followers are pivotally connected to a horizontal follower support and each has a control portion and a cam engagement portion engaging a horizontal drive portion. Horizontal control couplings couple the guide links to the control portions of the horizontal control followers. A vertical drive system is coupled to the foot support links. Abstract: A failure diagnosis circuit includes a multiplexer and a controller. The multiplexer receives address signals, and selectively outputs one of the address signals to an addressable module in response to a selecting signal. The controller generates a first one of address signals and the selecting signal. A built-in self-test circuit generates the second address signal. The addressable module includes addressable components responsive to the address signal. The controller processes the output of the addressable module responsive to the address signal to make a failure diagnosis. The built-in self-test circuit performs signature analysis on the read out output of the addressable module.
Abstract: A system, method and a computer program product for automatically provisioning an abbreviated dialing code are disclosed. The system includes a provisioning manager designed to process a request to provision an abbreviated dialing code. The provisioning manager includes a provisioning server that receives the request and a database of rules, communicatively coupled to the provisioning server, that stores one or more rules associated with the abbreviated dialing code. The system also includes a registry manager, communicatively coupled to the provisioning manager, that determines whether an abbreviated dialing code is registered.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for measuring the angular position of a contrasting edge of an object having a luminance transition zone which is substantially rectilinear in a given direction and separates two regions of different luminances. This method comprises the functional steps of: —carrying out, in a transverse direction different from the given direction, an amplitude modulation of the signals delivered by a first and a second optical sensor; and —calculating an output signal (Yout(t)) starting from the signals delivered by the first and the second optical sensors (D1, D2) as a function of the angular position of the luminance transition zone.
