  • Publication number: 20150016766
Abstract: There is provided a sliding member formed by combining a resin overlay and a soft metal overlay. The sliding member has a soft layer comprising a metallic material with a hardness of less than 40 HV provided under a resin overlay layer comprising a solid lubricant and resin. In the event of contamination by a foreign matter, the soft layer under the resin overlay layer is capable of plastic deformation and the resin overlay layer is capable of partial deformation accompanying the plastic deformation due to the hardness (T1) (?m) of the soft layer and the hardness (T2) (?m) of the resin overlay layer being such that 0.2?T1/T2?7.0 and 3.0?T1?20.0. Consequently, a foreign matter is desirably embedded and resistance to a foreign matter can be improved. Low friction is maintained by the resin overlay layer even after contamination by a foreign matter.

  • Patent number: 8905639
Abstract: A main bearing for a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine is composed of a pair of semi-cylindrical bearings. An oil groove extending in a circumferential direction is formed on an inner circumferential surface of one semi-cylindrical bearing. The oil groove has the depth gradually decreasing toward a circumferential end surface of the one semi-cylindrical bearing, and defines a circumferential end portion on the circumferential surface without extending to an axial groove formed in a joint portion of the pair of semi-cylindrical bearings. An extension portion of the inner circumferential surface extends between the circumferential end portion and the axial groove, and a plurality of circumferential grooves extending in the circumferential direction is formed on the extension portion from the oil groove to the axial groove over an entire width of the circumferential end portion of the oil groove.

  • Patent number: 8899837
Abstract: A halved sliding bearing (1) has a recess (7) formed in a circumferential direction from an outer peripheral edge of a mating surface (5) of a semi-cylindrical bearing main body (3). To prevent formation of a burr to an inside of the recess (7) during formation of the mating surface (5), an entirety of at least one edge segment of a peripheral edge of the recess (7) opening on a circumferential end surface of a semi-cylindrical member (23) as an unprocessed body of the bearing main body (3), the at least one edge segment intersecting with an axial direction of the member (23), is chamfered. The mating surface is formed by cutting the circumferential end surface such that a cutting blade (31) firstly reaches the chamfered edge in the peripheral edge of the recess (7). Thus, the bearing main body is produced.

  • Publication number: 20140233875
Abstract: In this sliding bearing, which is provided with a resin coating layer at the surface of a bearing alloy layer layered at a back metal layer, a PAI that degrades with difficulty at high temperatures is used as the main component as the resin binder of the resin coating layer, adjustment particles are included in the resin binder, and as a result, the compressive strength of the resin coating layer is increased, and indentations of the resin coating layer resulting from a shaft are prevented. Meanwhile, a plate solid lubricant is included in the resin binder, and thus sliding characteristics are improved. Also, delamination due to cracks is prevented by the effect of adjusting the orientation of the solid lubricant and the damming effect of the adjustment particles, and thus superior anti-seizure property is provided even in an engine that frequently repeats starting and stopping.
