  • Publication number: 20130209014
Abstract: A split-type sliding bearing for a crankshaft in an internal combustion engine incorporated in a split-type bearing housing. The sliding bearing consists of a pair of semi-cylindrical bearing bodies combined with each other to form a cylindrical body. The bearing housing has a cylindrical bearing retaining bore and consists of a pair of housing halves. One of the housing halves has a relatively lower stiffness, and the other has a relatively higher stiffness. One of the bearing bodies is held by the housing half having a relatively lower stiffness. The other bearing body is held by the housing half having a relatively higher stiffness. The bearing bodies have an equal outer diameter to each other, and both of the circumferential end parts of one bearing body have a larger thickness than those of the other bearing body prior to incorporation into the housing halves.

  • Patent number: 8500335
Abstract: A half plain bearing that has a positioning member with a novel construction, and a manufacturing method of the half plain bearing are proposed. If part of a material from which a bearing body 13 is formed is allowed to escape to outside of a tool with a narrow width when pressed by the tool, an amount of protrusion needed for a positioning member 20 to perform a function thereof (an amount of protrusion from an outer peripheral face of the bearing body) can be ensured while suppressing an amount of deformation of the material from which the bearing body 13 is formed in a circumferential direction thereof. The positioning member 20 of the half plain bearing thus formed has a flat portion 21a and a protrusion portion 22. A tip of the protrusion portion 22 is located on a mating face side with respect to a virtual plane that includes the flat portion 21a.

  • Publication number: 20130182981
Abstract: A main bearing for a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine is composed of a pair of semi-cylindrical bearings. An oil groove extending in a circumferential direction is formed on an inner circumferential surface of one semi-cylindrical bearing. The oil groove has the depth gradually decreasing toward a circumferential end surface of the one semi-cylindrical bearing, and defines a circumferential end portion on the circumferential surface without extending to an axial groove formed in a joint portion of the pair of semi-cylindrical bearings. An extension portion of the inner circumferential surface extends between the circumferential end portion and the axial groove, and a plurality of circumferential grooves extending in the circumferential direction is formed on the extension portion from the oil groove to the axial groove over an entire width of the circumferential end portion of the oil groove.

  • Publication number: 20130163904
Abstract: A halved sliding bearing (1) has a recess (7) formed in a circumferential direction from an outer peripheral edge of a mating surface (5) of a semi-cylindrical bearing main body (3). To prevent formation of a burr to an inside of the recess (7) during formation of the mating surface (5), an entirety of at least one edge segment of a peripheral edge of the recess (7) opening on a circumferential end surface of a semi-cylindrical member (23) as an unprocessed body of the bearing main body (3), the at least one edge segment intersecting with an axial direction of the member (23), is chamfered. The mating surface is formed by cutting the circumferential end surface such that a cutting blade (31) firstly reaches the chamfered edge in the peripheral edge of the recess (7). Thus, the bearing main body is produced.

  • Publication number: 20130156358
Abstract: A main bearing for a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine comprises a pair of semi-cylindrical bearings. An oil groove extends on an inner circumferential surface of one semi-cylindrical bearing in a circumferential direction so that the center thereof in an axial direction aligns with that of an inlet opening of a lubricating oil path in a journal section of the crankshaft. • Patent number: 8420580
Abstract: A sliding resin composition is provided which hardly seizes by decreasing oil repellency of PTFE to prevent discharging of lubricating oil from sliding surface. That is, by using resin composition 1 where particles of PTFE 3 in the surface of which inorganic compound 4 having oil-absorptivity is embedded are dispersed in synthetic resin 2, the inorganic compound 4 having oil-absorptivity absorbs and retains lubricating oil, and oil repellency of PTFE 3 on the sliding surface can be decreased. Thus, discharging of the lubricating oil from the sliding surface can be inhibited and resin composition 1 hardly seizes.

  • Publication number: 20130089459
Abstract: In a copper-based slide member in which needle-shaped Mn—Si based compounds are dispersed in a brass structure, 50% or more of a total number of the needle-shaped Mn—Si based compounds having lengths of 50 ?m or more in a major axis direction are constituted of a plurality of small particles. Thereby, even if the needle-shaped Mn—Si based compounds fall off during sliding, the small particles which constitute the needle-shaped Mn—Si based compounds may fall off. Thus, the frequency of falling off of the coarse needle-shaped Mn—Si based compound which damages a shaft and a bearing is decreased. Therefore, seizure hardly occurs.
