    Abstract: A vacuum packaging system for transporting a plurality of medical containers including a tray that supports the medical containers and an air impervious flexible film defining an internal cavity. The air impervious flexible film completely surrounds the tray and the medical containers. The internal cavity is evacuated to a predetermined vacuum level below atmospheric pressure. A method for packaging the plurality of medical containers for transportation in the tray includes inserting the medical containers into the tray, inserting the tray filled with medical containers into the internal cavity, evacuating the internal cavity to a predetermined vacuum pressure and sealing the flexible film such that the predetermined vacuum pressure is generally maintained in the internal cavity.

    Abstract: A medical container is excellent in solvent resistance, low gas permeability and heat resistance. A treating method for producing such medical containers is also disclosed. The medical container includes a polyethylene naphthalate resin and includes a liquid-contact part which is on an inner surface of the container, the liquid-contact part being resistant to leaching of a component of the container as a result of being irradiated with light and/or plasma. The light for irradiation may have a wavelength in the range of 350 to 450 nm. The medical container may be a vial or a syringe. The treating method for producing a medical container includes irradiating a liquid-contact part of a polyethylene naphthalate medical container with light and/or plasma.

A plastic film is laminated on the sealing rubber closure at least in an area of the Luer-nozzle-receiving part, where a free end of the Luer nozzle is to be maintained in contact with the sealing rubber closure.
