  • Publication number: 20090043448
Abstract: An operating method for a vehicle having at least one toggle switch with which, when it is activated, it is possible to change between at least two assigned applications or application groups, and an associated operating system. After activation of the toggle switch has been detected, activation states of at least two assigned applications or application groups are determined, and at least one of the assigned applications or application groups is activated as a function of the determined activation states. A predefined basic state of a predefined application or application group or a stored last state of an application or application group which is activated last is set if all the applications or application groups which are assigned to the toggle switch are in a first state.

  • Patent number: 7489097
Abstract: A method of controlling a brushless direct current motor without a position sensor. The motor includes a plurality phase windings adapted to be energized by an active inverter circuit that synchronously applies drive voltages through a plurality of phases to produce drive currents in the phase windings. Back electromotive force voltages are detected when the inverter circuit is inactive for sensorless detection of motor position.

  • Patent number: 7488437
Abstract: A method for manufacturing SMC components from an appropriately adapted amount of a fibrous reactive synthetic resin which is provided in the form of defined blanks of prepregs. The prepregs are placed in a defined position into a heated mold of a molding press, the heated resin/fiber mass is flow-molded in the closing mold to form the SMC component, said component is thermally cured and subsequently removed from the mold. Two different approaches are taken, one being intended for introducing the resin mass into the mold as multiple layers and the other for introducing the resin mass as a single layer.

  • Patent number: 7485389
Abstract: An electrochemical fuel cell stack includes a membrane electrode assembly and a distributor plate. The distributor plate includes a channel region having gas channels for distributing reaction gas to the membrane electrode assembly, a first port area for supplying reaction gas to the channel region, and a second port area for removing reaction gas from the channel region. The gas channels are disentangled and each distributed in a respective separate channel area, at least one of the gas channels having at least one deflection point between the first and second port areas.

  • Patent number: 7483778
Abstract: An array of control devices having a plurality of control devices (1-3, 20-23) which are interconnected via a first data bus (4), in a means of transportation, control devices (1-3; 20-23) which are of redundant configuration with respect to a control function being provided, and in each case a data bus isolating switch (5) being assigned to the control devices (1-3; 20-23) which are of redundant configuration, the data bus isolating switch(s) connecting or disconnecting the data bus (4) as a function of an evaluation signal. In order to optimize the redundant array, each of these data bus isolating switches (5) is connected to a signal line of at least one further redundant control device (1-3; 20-23), a further redundant control device (2, 3; 21; 23) transmits an evaluation signal to the data bus isolating switch (5) which is assigned to a first redundant control device (1; 20; 22).

  • Patent number: 7481856
Abstract: A reactor for autothermal reforming of hydrocarbons that allows a reduction of excess-air factor ? during the reforming without resulting in a reduced conversion of the hydrocarbons in an end region of the reaction zone. The reactor includes at least one reaction zone in which is arranged at least one catalyst structure for the reformation so that the educts involved in the reformation are converted while flowing through the reaction zone. A heating device is included for heating the end region of the reaction zone to accelerate the conversion of the hydrocarbons.

  • Patent number: 7481459
Abstract: The present invention concerns a steering shaft (4) of a steering column (1) and (4) for a motor vehicle steering assembly (2), wherein the steering shaft (4) includes a cylinder body (11) and a piston rod body (12) inserted telescopically therein, and on one end is connectible with a steering wheel (6) and at the other is connectible via a steering coupling (5) with a steering gear (7). The assembly of the steering shaft (4) can be simplified thereby, that the steering shaft (4) includes at least one (1) pneumatic connection (13), which communicates with a cylinder space (14), which is provided in the cylinder body (11) and which cylinder space is axially bordered from the piston rod body (12), in such a manner, that pressure actuation of the cylinder space (14) drives the piston rod body (12) to extend from the cylinder body (11).
