Abstract: A method to monitor integrity of a signal generated and communicated in a distributed control module system for a hybrid powertrain system includes generating and verifying signal within an originating control module. A message is generated based upon the signal. The message is transmitted and received at a receiving control module. The signal is extracted from the message and its integrity is verified.

Abstract: In a method for producing a heat exchanger tube bundle for a heat exchanger of an electrochemical energy accumulators, heat exchanger channels and an intended profile are incorporated into material strips by deep drawing. A forward-flow distribution aperture is incorporated into a first such material strip from step b) (first heat exchanger plate), and return collecting apertures are incorporated into a second such material strip, forming first and the second heat exchanger plates. The latter are aligned in such a manner that webs of the two heat exchanger plates border each other, and the heat exchanger channels form heat exchanger tubes. The heat exchanger plates arranged in this manner are joined together to form a heat exchanger tube bundle. A corresponding pressure welding apparatus, a heat exchanger tube bundle, a heat exchanger module, a heat exchanger with two or more heat exchanger modules, and an electrochemical energy accumulator with a heat exchanger of this type are also disclosed.

Abstract: Flow field plate constructions for bipolar plates are disclosed for use in fuel cell stacks that are subject to freezing temperatures. In designs having internal coolant flow fields and reactant backfeed ports, relief ducts are provided in the supporting walls surrounding the backfeed ports in order to allow for ice formation and thus prevent cracking of the plates.
Abstract: The flow field plates in a bipolar plate assembly for a fuel cell can be both bonded and sealed appropriately using microencapsulated adhesives. This offers several advantages over using other adhesives which may have limited pot life and/or require lengthy curing periods at elevated temperature during which time the plates must be stably positioned and under compression.
Abstract: A restraint system for a motor vehicle includes a support structure moveable from a stowage position into a restraint position, a covering by means of which a restraint volume formed by the support structure in its restraint position is enclosed, and at least one ventilation opening via which a medium, in particular air, can flow into the covering during the transfer into the restraint position. The at least one ventilation opening is provided within a housing that at least partially accommodates the support structure and the covering in the stowage position.

Abstract: A fuel cell system includes at least one fuel cell arranged in a housing and an conveyor means for air supply for a cathode region of this fuel cell. A partial air flow branches off from the supply air to the fuel cell after the conveyor, the partial air flow flowing as bearing air and/or cooling air at least through a part of the conveyor. The partial air flow flows in the flow direction before or after the conveyor as scavenging air through the housing of the fuel cell.
Abstract: A wire-like spray material (4) based on an iron for electric arc wire spraying and also a functional layer (2) which can be produced therewith on a substrate (1). The functional layer (2) has good corrosion resistance towards diesel fuel having a high sulphur content.

Abstract: A foil conductor for flat cells includes a contact zone for contact with further cells or busbars, an adhesion zone for adhesive bonding with a packaging foil of a cell, and a connection zone for connection to an electrode foil within the cell. At least two of the zones have a surface composition differing from each other.
Abstract: A method to control a powertrain including a transmission, an engine, and an electric machine includes monitoring a desired transmission shift including an oncoming clutch, monitoring operational parameters of the powertrain, monitoring a maximum electric machine torque capacity, determining a desired output torque profile through the desired transmission shift, determining a maximum electric machine torque capability profile through the desired transmission shift based upon the maximum electric machine torque capacity and the operational parameters, comparing the desired output torque profile to the maximum electric machine torque capability profile, determining a preferred oncoming clutch torque profile through the desired transmission shift based upon the comparing, and executing a clutch assisted shift based upon the preferred oncoming clutch torque profile.

Abstract: In a device for humidifying a gas flow, an atomized liquid is combined with a gas flow in a spray chamber, and passed through a generally U-shaped gas flow passage having a first generally vertical part 3 through which the atomized liquid and gas passes to a lower part 4. From there, the gas passes generally vertically upwardly to an outlet 9. The lower part of the passage incorporates an opening 6 to a water separator 7. The opening 6 is closable by a float device 10, or includes a flow restricting control valve 13.
Abstract: In a dual clutch transmission with a main group and final shift group, with a coupling device for coupling a transmission element of the main group to a final shift group transmission element of the final shift group, the transmission comprises two transmission gears (V4L, V5L, V1 H, V2H) which can be formed simultaneously with one of the transmission gears (V4L, V5L) assignable to a lower group of the final shift group and another of the transmission gears (V1H, V2H) assignable to an upper group of the final shift group.
