    Abstract: An optically stable resonator producing a laser beam which by the use of a converging and of a diverging optical element is subdivided into an amplifier part with large beam diameter and small energy density and into a mode filter part with small beam cross section and correspondingly small Fresnel number all with a short structural length of the resonator. The advantage of the present invention resides in the high beam quality of the produced beam which contains predominantly only the fundamental mode, and in the small thermal load of the participating elements, especially of the decoupling window. The subdivision of the stable resonator according to this invention into an amplifier part and into a load filter part opens up to this resonator type power output ranges which were precluded heretofore by reason of a maximum permissive thermal load of the decoupling window.

    Abstract: In a motor vehicle with an all-wheel drive, which is equipped with a thrust and anti-lock control device, each wheel brake has assigned to it a pressure modulator, within which a control-pressure space, into which the outlet pressure of a brake unit can be fed, and an outlet-pressure space, to which a particular wheel brake is connected, are limited by a control piston. This control piston ensures the hydraulic separation of the control circuit from the outlet circuit. Two drive pistons supported on the control piston limit, within the modulator housing, two drive-pressure spaces which, by being connected alternately to the outlet of an operating-pressure source, can control pressure build-up and pressure-reduction control movements of the control piston.

    Abstract: A process for the ignition of a regenerative soot filter adapted to be ignited in which the temperature, respectively, heat quantity necessary for the ignition of the filter is produced by charging a storage container located ahead of the soot filter or in connection with the soot filter which contains a hydride-forming alloy or a hydride-forming material. The necessary hydrogen is taken from a second storage container with a different alloy storing hydrogen, which is brought to a temperature by the exhaust gases so that a sufficient hydrogen pressure results therefrom. After the ignition, the second storage container is cooled off and the hydrogen is again conducted from the first storage container heated by the exhaust gases back into the second storage container so that the ignition operation can be repeated with renewed heating of the second storage container.

The frame members (10, 11) can be expediently placed for mounting angularly on the ignition coil (1) and are pivotable in abutment with the surface of the magnetic core (4).

    Abstract: A shifting arrangement for the shifting between a single-axle standard drive and an all-wheel drive, having a first clutch for the locking of a central differential gear and a second clutch for the connecting and disconnecting of one vehicle axle, actuated by first and second pressure medium control elements against the force of a spring and having a shift valve controlled by an electronic control unit, to either supply working pressure or relieve from pressure the control element. The shift valve can be controlled by the control unit in such a way that, when there is a shifting into the shifting step for the standard drive, the clutch torque of the clutch of the differential gear at least approximately increases only to the extent to which the clutch torque of the other clutch decreases. As a result, a sudden rise of torque is avoided at the vehicle axle that is driven in a standard drive.

    Abstract: A self-optimizing control method for optimizing the fuel/air ratio under non-steady conditions in an internal combustion engine is described; in this method, a probe is provided both before and after the catalyst. Control quantities and the time during which the post catalyst probe shows an undesirable fuel/air ratio are stored for certain specified engine-operating conditions in the non-steady range. When the same engine operating condition is repeated, reference is made to the stored control quantities and time and the control quantity is varied in the direction of the correct fuel/air ratio. The time now obtained is compared with the stored time and, if the time has decreased, the new control quantity and the new time are stored. The control values are iteratively corrected by repeating these procedures, when the same engine operating condition reappears, until the time reaches a minimum.

    Abstract: A process is described for producing a diesel fuel/water emulsion for a diesel engine in which, as a function of the operating condition of the engine, water and diesel fuel are mixed at different quantitative proportions and supplied to the engine. The water and the diesel fuel separately are led practically to the intake side of the injection pump and are mixed only in the pump cylinder. The non-injected highly pressurized excess quantity of fuel is stored temporarily in an accumulator and is again supplied to the injection pump during the next intake stroke. The process makes it possible to produce a very fine water/fuel mixture and in addition to keep the volume of the fnished water/fuel mixture low, so that when the quantitative proportion is changed because of the inertia of the system, the new fuel/water mixture is available at the point of consumption (injection nozzle).

    Abstract: The application relates to a lock having a closing cylinder for a drop door of a motor vehicle, with the free end of the rotor being provided with a locking projection. To enable the drop door to be slammed shut even when the lock is closed, a ring is provided which can be turned through a certain angle about the rotor longitudinal axis against spring force and is mounted on the end of the rotor remote from the insertion opening for the key. A rotary latch body which is acted upon by a spring is coupled to the ring in hinged manner. The rotary latch body, in a base area, has a central passage opening for the free end of the rotor and a recess for the passage of the locking projection at a certain angular position. The rotary latch body has a projection with a bevelled side face which interacts as a mating piece with an inclined plane fixed to the vehicle to be movable against spring force when the door is slammed shut, to then be returned by the spring force to the locked position.
