Abstract: A motor vehicle drive train device includes a multi-group transmission with a main group providing at least one forward transmission gear and at least one reverse transmission gear, and a downstream group downstream from the main group. The device also includes a control and/or regulation unit having a gear change function for shifting the main group at least in one transmission gear change operation in order to engage a transmission gear opposite to the current direction of travel. The control and/or regulation unit has a synchronization function which is provided for shifting the downstream group in order to engage the transmission gear opposite to the current direction of travel.

Abstract: Method for producing an SMC multi-layer component in a production process. The component has a sandwich structure. At least one foam material layer (3) is embedded between two SMC cover layers (2, 2?). An insert layer arrangement comprising at least one first and one second SMC semifinished product cover layer (2, 2?) is positioned in a press mold comprising a punch (1) and a die (1?). A first and a second SMC semifinished product cover layers (2, 2?) are shaped into two SMC cover layers (2, 2?) by applying pressure to the layer arrangement. Curing of the first and the second SMC semifinished product cover layers (2, 2?) is initiated. The punch (1) and the die (1?) are moved away from each other, until the distance provided therebetween corresponds to a thickness of the SMC multi-layer component to be produced. A foaming process of a material (3?) that can be foamed, which is provided between the two SMC cover layers (2, 2?) is initiated, producing the foam material layer (3).
Abstract: A system for NOx reduction in combustion gases, especially from diesel engines, incorporates an oxidation catalyst to convert at least a portion of NO to NO2, particulate filter, a source of reductant such as NH3 and an SCR catalyst and methods for operating such a system are disclosed. Considerable improvements in NOx conversion and soot reduction are observed even at relatively low operating temperatures.

Abstract: A pump has a shaft, an impeller arranged on the shaft, and a labyrinth seal which is arranged between stationary and moving parts of the pump. A plurality of blades are arranged on the rotor and a labyrinth seal extends at least between the shaft and a rear portion of the blades. A gap in the labyrinth seal is designed such that liquid water can be actively carried away, with the labyrinth seal for this purpose being designed at least in places with a channel in the form of a spiral and/or a staircase. The invention also relates to a fuel cell system having such a pump.

Abstract: The pressure drop associated with the coolant flow in the coolant transition regions of a typical high power density, solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell stack can be significant. This pressure drop can be reduced by enlarging the height of the coolant ducts in this region of the associated flow field plate so that the ducts extend beyond the plane of the plate. The height change can be accommodated by offsetting the ducts in adjacent cells in the stack and by employing non planar MEAs in this region. By reducing the pressure drop, improved coolant flow sharing is obtained.

An ash increase value characterizing an increase in the amount of ash is determined and if pre-set conditions are present, the operation of the internal combustion engine is changed over to a special operating mode for performing an ash detachment and transportation operation, in which operating variables of the internal combustion engine are set such that, on the exhaust entry side in the exhaust particle filter, a pre-settable minimum exhaust flow speed results at which detachment of ash attached to the channel walls of the exhaust particle filter and transportation of detached ash in the direction of the respective inlet channel end is made possible.

Abstract: The potential energy from a hydrogen tank is used in a gas jet pump, which draws in anode waste gas via an inlet and recirculates it to an anode inlet. To ensure that this system operates effectively even under low loads, a part of the waste gas is supplied to a compressor, and the compressed waste gas is supplied to the motive jet inlet of a gas jet pump, which may be the same one to which the hydrogen from the tank is also supplied. Different gas jet pumps may also be used, for the hydrogen from the tank on the one hand, and the compressed waste gas on the other hand.

Abstract: A method for preventing a collision of a vehicle involves continuously detecting an operation of a brake pedal of the vehicle and concluding a risk of collision if the brake pedal is operated quickly. A position and a movement of objects in the vehicle surroundings relative to the vehicle are detected and evaluated regarding the risk of collision. When a risk of collision has been detected, an evasion maneuver of the vehicle is automatically carried out, if the evaluation of the risk of collision reveals that a collision can be prevented by an evasion maneuver but not by a braking manoeuvre.
