Abstract: The invention concerns a suction muffler (1) for a hermetically enclosed refrigerant compressor with a housing (2, 3) having, between an inlet (10) and an outlet (11), a first muffling chamber (8) in the flow direction and a second muffling chamber (9) in the flow direction, an insert (7) being arranged between the muffling chambers (8, 9), the insert (7) having a passage (18) that connects the muffling chambers (8, 9) to each other. It is endeavoured to obtain a certain degree of freedom when positioning the suction mufflers in the case of the compressor. For this purpose, the insert (7) has a tube (12) that is led through the second muffling chamber (9), one end of the tube (12) being led through the housing (2), the other end opening into the first muffling chamber (8).

  • Publication number: 20090251022
Abstract: The invention concerns a rotor (1) for an electric drive motor of a refrigerant compressor with a cylinder ring (2), several permanent magnets (14) resting on the radial inside of the cylinder ring (2), each permanent magnet (14) forming a ring section, and fixing elements (15) between the permanent magnets (14), said fixing elements (15) engaging a fixing geometry (4, 16) of the cylinder ring (2). It is endeavoured to simplify the manufacturing of such a rotor. For this purpose, the cylinder ring (2) is located in a carrier (5), which comprises a bottom (6) and a circumferential wall (7), the permanent magnets (14, 14a, 14b) resting on the bottom (6), and each fixing element (15, 15a, 15b) comprising at least one projection (17, 18), which covers a side (24) of the permanent magnet (14, 14a, 14b) facing away from the bottom (6).

  • Publication number: 20090242054
Abstract: A selectable detent assembly that has a housing with a plurality of passageways. Within the housing is a selector spool that is disposed within a selector passageway and is rotatable to provide a plurality of rotational positions including a no detent position, a kick down position, and a continuous detent position. A pilot check valve is disposed within the housing and provides a fluid flow path from a pilot passageway to the selector passageway and a detent passageway. A detent arming piston is disposed within the detent passageway and is connected to a directional control valve spool. Thus, depending on the rotational position of the selector spool, the selector spool can either provide a continuous flow path through the selector passageway to a tank, a flow path that is controlled by the axial position of the selector spool or prevent flow to the tank in order to operate the detent arming piston.

  • Patent number: 7594868
Abstract: An operating system for a vehicle having an engine that provides an input shaft into a split-power transmission to actuate an output shaft that drives an axle and wheels of the vehicle. The split-power transmission uses a power summing device in order to provide a plurality of modes that are associated with a plurality of clutching and variable power units. By using the power summing device in association with the plurality of clutches and variable power units, a controller that is electrically connected to each is able to actuate the clutches and variable power units in order to provide an automatic transmission that shifts at synchronous speeds.

  • Publication number: 20090239039
Abstract: A multilayer composite includes at least two composites, each composite having a film and an electronically conductive layer. Several composites are laminated to provide an increased conversion between mechanical and electrical energies not only due to the multiplication of the effect of each layer, but also due to the fact that the multilayer structure itself renders the multilayer composite more rigid. In addition, the multilayer structure facilitates application of an electrical field over thinner portions of the structure, thereby requiring much less potential difference between electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20090229303
Abstract: The invention concerns a refrigerant compressor arrangement (1) with a housing (2, 3) comprising a suction opening (5), a compressor (15), which is arranged in the housing (2, 3), and is connected to the suction opening (5), and a suction connection (20) that is fixed at the housing (2, 3), and comprises a housing section (21) and a tube section (22), the housing section (21) being connected to the suction opening (5) and the diameter of the tube section (22) being different from the diameter of the housing section (21). • Publication number: 20090218272
Abstract: A micro fluidic system comprising at least one tube (1), a membrane (3) and at least one fitting member (4). The fitting member (4) is positioned around the membrane (3) and an end part (2) of the tube(s) (1), thereby fitting the membrane (3) to the end part(s) (2). The fitting member(s) (4) is/are made from a shrinkable material, and it/they is/are fitted tightly around the membrane (3) end part(s) (2). This is obtained by causing the shrinkable material to shrink, e.g. by heating the material, while the fitting member (4) is positioned around the membrane (3) and the end part(s) (2). It is an advantage that the fitting member (4) is made from a shrinkable material because this provides the possibility of fitting the membrane (3) tightly to the end parts) (2) in an easy and cost effective manner. The micro fluidic system is very suitable for use in a probe, such as a dialysis probe. Also claimed is a method of manufacturing the micro fluidic system.

  • Publication number: 20090222145
Abstract: The invention provides a method and a system for controlling floor heating or climate regulating systems with long time constants. According to the invention, a flow of a fluid is provided through the floor or through a similar medium with large thermal inertia. An induced heat is determined by adding up a plurality of differences between an inlet temperature of the fluid when it enters the medium and an outlet temperature of the fluid when it leaves the medium. The temperatures are sampled with a fixed sampling time and within a fixed period of time, and a corresponding change in temperature of the medium over the fixed period of time is determined. In the future, the temperature of that medium is controlled by use of a ratio between the induced heat and the change in temperature.

  • Patent number: 7578193
Abstract: A method of measuring vibration on an operational device. The method includes providing an operational device with a control unit and a vibration sensor having a three axis accelerometer, a digital signal processor, and a communications transceiver. The digital signal processor takes the raw vibration data for each axis of the three axis accelerometer and applies a weighting function to the vibration data for each individual axis. Then stress level data associated with the vehicle operator is used to calculate the instantaneous contributions of the filtered data to the stress level data of the operator to determine instantaneous stress level data that has accumulated over a fixed time interval. After the fixed time interval, the digital signal processor calculates an increase of the stress level of the operator during the time interval to create stress data that is transmitted through a communications transceiver for display.
