Patent number: 6926547Abstract: An arc quenching electrical connector has a male pin terminal which inserts longitudinally into a receptacle or terminal having a gassing wall engaged concentrically about the receptacle. During “hot unplugging” of the electrical connector, an arc is carried between a tip of the male pin and a contact surface of a leading end of the receptacle. The gassing wall extends over and is directly engaged to a portion of the contact surface. Because the gassing wall is also preferably an electrical insulator, the arc communicates electrically with the exposed contact surface and is biased directly against the gassing wall. The gassing wall, when heated by the adjacent arc, quenches or reduces the energy of the arc by releasing gas which eliminates arc erosion of the terminals.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2001Date of Patent: August 9, 2005Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Thomas J. Patent number: 6927678Abstract: A fluid-filled seat bladder assembly includes multiple capacitive sensing elements for detecting variation in bladder deformation due to occupant weight. The bladder is defined by upper and lower elastomeric sheets that are peripherally sealed by welding, and the capacitive sensors are defined by metalized films adjoining the upper and lower elastomeric sheets. The bladder fluid separating the upper and lower metalized films acts as a dielectric material, and the capacitance or electric field coupling of each sensor increases when the separation between the respective upper and lower films decreases due occupant seat weight. The cumulative change in capacitance or electric field coupling reflects the total seated weight, and the individual capacitance or electric field coupling changes provide a profile of the pressure distribution across the seat for improved occupant classification.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 2003Date of Patent: August 9, 2005Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: William W. Patent number: 6925445Abstract: A customer compatible software is electronically provided to a customer based on a customer specification provided through a web interface. In one embodiment, the specification is checked for input errors and the customer is prompted to correct any detected errors, before proceeding. In another embodiment, a specification file is created by a common gateway interface (CGI) program based on the received customer specification. A customer compatible executable is then created by first selecting generic source code from a library (based on the specification file). Next, the generic source code is modified (based on the specification file). Then, the modified generic source code is compiled and linked to create an executable. Finally, the executable is converted to a customer compatible executable and provided with documentation to the customer via e-mail.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1999Date of Patent: August 2, 2005Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Branislav Kisacanin
