  • Patent number: 7064351
Abstract: Poly-silicon semiconductor layer 21 and dummy poly-silicon semiconductor layer 25 are formed in insulation from each other on glass substrate. Gate insulation film 31 is formed on poly-silicon semiconductor layer 21, dummy poly-silicon semiconductor layer 25 and glass substrate and covered with scanning and gate lines 11, which is overlapped with poly-silicon semiconductor layer 21 and dummy poly-silicon semiconductor layer 25. Poly-silicon semiconductor layer 21 is coupled with a reference potential to define capacitor Cc and also with scanning and gate line 11 to define capacitor Cd. Likewise, dummy poly-silicon semiconductor layer 25 is coupled with a reference potential to define capacitor Cc and also with scanning and gate line 11 to define capacitor Cd. Capacitors Cc and Cd suppress increase in voltage applied to gate insulation film 31 between scanning and gate line 11 and poly-silicon semiconductor layer 21 due to electrostatic charges.

  • Publication number: 20060114202
Abstract: An object of this array substrate for a flat display device is to eliminate display unevenness caused by the inequality of parasitic capacitances of switches of signal line switch circuits. Electrode patterns (P) which connects the gate electrodes of the switches (ASW) to any one of a plurality of switch control signal lines (ASWL1 and ASWL2) are formed so as to each two-dimensionally overlap all of the switch control signal lines ASWL and to have substantially identical shapes, thus equalizing the areas of the electrode patterns (P).

  • Publication number: 20060097970
Abstract: Fine electrode patterns pattern-formed in the shape of fine teeth of a comb bilaterally symmetrical with respect to band-shaped portions are formed at even intervals in a pixel electrode, and band-shaped dielectric layers are pattern-formed at even intervals to cover the fine electrode patterns in a display pixel. By the existence of the dielectric layer and the fine electrode pattern complementing this, a portion formed with these layer and fine electrode pattern is a high threshold voltage region, and relatively, a low threshold voltage region where the dielectric layer does not exist is formed. By the aforementioned construction, it becomes possible to improve a delay in response speed at low gray levels and increase the speed of halftone response, whereby a very reliable image display having moving image performance almost equal to that of a CRT is realized.
