  • Publication number: 20020108119
Abstract: Internet access is provided over a digital cable television system using Internet protocol (IP) over MPEG digital video. Simultaneous Internet access and TV viewing is provided by an IP over MPEG-2 video system with channel tracking. Whenever a video channel change is detected, the viewer's Internet connection is routed from one video channel to another video channel so that the Internet connection is dynamically routed and tracks the channel changes made by the viewer. Additionally, if there is no available data carrying capacity in the video channel selected by the viewer (a “busy” condition), the Internet connection is routed to an out-of-band frequency. The Internet connection tracks the channel changes made by the viewer using a single tuner/digital MPEG decoder in the CATV settop box.

  • Patent number: 6429184
Abstract: A granular detergent product is made by spraying a liquid binder to contact a particulate solid starting material in a low shear granulator such as a fluidized bed apparatus. The d3,2 average droplet diameter of the liquid binder is not greater than ten times the d3,2 average particle diameter of that fraction of the solid starting material which has a d3,2 particle diameter of from 20 &mgr;m to 200 &mgr;m provided that if more than 90% by weight of the solid starting material has a d3,2 average particle diameter less than 20 &mgr;m then the d3,2 average particle diameter of the total solid starting materials shall be taken to be 20 &mgr;m. If more than 90% by weight of the solid starting material has a d3,2 average particle diameter greater than 200 &mgr;m than the d3,2 average particle diameter of the total starting solid material shall be taken to be 200 &mgr;m.

  • Patent number: 6428775
Abstract: A make-up remover which has high efficacy yet low greasiness, contains a combination of two make-up removal ingredients: (i) mineral oil and/or wax and (ii) isoparaffin, wherein the second ingredient (ii) boosts the make-up removal capacity of the first ingredient, thus allowing to decrease the level of mineral oil and/or wax in the composition, which in turn results in decreased greasiness of the composition.

  • Patent number: 6426326
Abstract: The invention relates to liquid cleansing compositions in lattellar phase which possess a lotion-like appearance conveying signals of enhanced moisturization. However, these liquids often undergo an irreversible decrease in viscosity under freeze/thaw conditions, losing their moisturization signals. The use of low salt levels in amphoteric and anionic surfactants in a structured liquid product has been found to improve its freeze/thaw stability.

  • Patent number: 6426060
Abstract: A cosmetic composition is a structured emulsion of a continuous phase containing water-immiscible liquid carrier plus a structurant, and a disperse phase which is a solution of antiperspirant active in a more polar, probably aqueous, solvent. The structurant is a material which forms a network of fibers in the continuous phase, thereby gelling it. The structurant has an enthalpy of gelation in the carrier liquid or a test liquid with a magnitude of at least 30 kJ/mole. This minimum enthalpy of gelation facilitates processing at conveniently accessible temperatures and promotes stability.

  • Patent number: 6426106
Abstract: A method for making a cold water soluble black tea extract. The method involves extracting tea solids from black tea leaves using an extraction liquid to provide a whole tea extract, oxidizing the whole tea extract under superatmospheric pressure and at a temperature above 60° C. to provide a cold water soluble liquor, cooling the cold water soluble liquor to precipitate any residual cold water insoluble material, and separating the residual cold water insoluble material from the cold water soluble liquor to give the cold water soluble black tea extract. A method for making a cold water soluble black tea powder is also described.

  • Patent number: 6422785
Abstract: An infeed conveyor is provided with high pivot capability. High pivot capability is the capability to raise the elevation of at least one end of an infeed conveyor belt to an elevation higher than regular horizontal operation if the belt placer is operating lower than the surrounding grade. High pivot capability prevents the infeed conveyor from bottoming out on the grade of the haul road or adjacent pavement; and in some instances, high pivot capability allows use of the belt placer under conditions that belt placers without high pivot capability could not operate. Also disclosed is the ability for belt placers to be used to pave in both forward and reverse directions, whereas former belt placers could only pave in the forward direction. This is accomplished by the ability to rotate the discharge conveyor under one side of the belt placer, and changing the direction in which the belt placer travels.
