  • Patent number: 5965500
Abstract: The present invention provides high foaming aqueous liquid compositions with levels of oil/emollient equal to or in excess of level of surfactant. It is surprising that good levels of foam can be maintained at such high levels of emollient. In addition to surfactant and emollient, compositions also preferably comprise C.sub.12 -C.sub.24 fatty acid and/or cationic polymer.

  • Patent number: 5965501
Abstract: The present invention relates to bar compositions in which an emollient composition comprising thickened entrapped emollient is added to a base bar composition at or during time of extrusion to form macroscopic, concentrated domains of emollient droplets. Addition of entrapped droplets allows far greater deposition than if the non-trapped emollients had been mixed in directly to form chips which are then extruded to form final bar.

  • Patent number: 5964295
Abstract: The improved recovery of hydrocarbons from subterranean formations by hydraulically fracturing a subterranean formation is accomplished. Fracturing fluids using a viscoelastic surfactant fluid containing wormlike micelles are useful to improve recovery of hydrocarbons and limit the loss of fracturing fluid into the formation fracture face. The invention further relates to novel fracturing methods useful for increasing hydrocarbon production, limiting connate water production, resisting fracturing fluid loss into the subterranean formation, and reducing the equipment requirements in mixing and pumping fracturing fluid. The action of micelles of surfactant in aqueous zones of the subterranean formation facilitates the flowback of increased amounts of hydrocarbons once a fractured well is placed back on production.

  • Patent number: 5961255
Abstract: An overlay sheet having a first thin layer of a polymer material, a second thin layer of a hard material such as a phenolic, melamine or metal foil, and a third thin layer of a polymer material, the first and third layers sandwiching the second layer. The sheet is applied to a surface of a printed circuit board such that the third layer is against the board surface, and the first layer is exposed to receive the drill bit. During drilling operations, the drill bit is advanced initially through the softer first layer of the polymer material, immobilizing the tip of the drill bit against lateral movement, then through the harder layer, then through the softer third layer, and finally through the printed circuit board. The harder layer prevents formation of burrs, and the polymer material inhibits drill bit wander.

  • Patent number: 5962777
Abstract: The monitor for uncommanded braking controls uncommanded brake application on one or more wheels during takeoff of an aircraft. Brake pedal application is determined, brake pressure is measured, and brake pressure is compared with a selected threshold brake pressure. A brake pressure applied signal is generated when the brake pressure exceeds the threshold brake pressure. The pedal application signal and brake pressure applied signal are received by a fault latch logic circuit that generates a fault latch output signal when uncommanded braking has occurred. A test inhibit signal is also generated when weight is not applied on the wheel. The test inhibit signal is also input to the fault latch logic circuit so that uncommanded braking can occur when the aircraft is in the air and weight is off the wheel. The monitor disables or latches off the shutoff valve when pressure is detected without pedal application.

  • Patent number: 5955092
Abstract: N-substituted fatty acid amides which sufficiently inhibit LRAT or ARAT catalyzed esterification of retinol into inactive retinyl esters, have the same effect on keratinocytes as retinoic acid. Thus, effects of the retinol or retinyl esters in combination with N-substituted fatty acid amides are analogous to treatment with retinoic acid.

  • Patent number: 5952023
Abstract: An improved process for the preparation of acid stable instant tea. Enzymatic extraction of black tea leaf using an enzyme cocktail adjusted to a critical pH is employed. Black tea is extracted with water containing tannase and one or more cell wall digesting enzymes, such as cellulase, pectinase, hemicellulase or VISCOZYME at a selected pH. The resulting tea extract can then be pasteurized, polished and made into a finished beverage or concentrated and dried in the usual manner. As a result, natural tea products are obtained which have improved acid stability, good color and good clarity.

  • Patent number: 5952965
Abstract: Without use of separate auxiliary antennas, adaptive nulling automatically reduces jamming or other interference affecting a radar or IFF system. A primary beam forming network utilizes four-port directional coupler devices, each having an ancillary port which would have been resistively terminated in the absence of the invention. Signals from ancillary ports are coupled to an auxiliary beam forming network to form auxiliary beam patterns which are orthogonal to and track steered main beam patterns. Auxiliary signals are received via the auxiliary beam patterns. Least mean square (LMS) control loops operate on a feedback basis to derive weighted auxiliary signals responsive to jamming signals. The weighted auxiliary signals are combined with the primary received signals (which may be sum and difference signals) in reverse polarity, so as to be additively destructive of the jamming signals. Multiple LMS control loops enable nulling of jamming signals simultaneously in sum and difference channels.

  • Patent number: 5950322
Abstract: A drier for wood chips and other bulk materials includes an incinerator for indirectly heating a drying apparatus. The drier operates in a circulatory gas operation with a high water vapor load. All drier exhaust gases are fed to the incinerator and thermally post-combusted there. The drying apparatus includes two drier lines. The first line is heated with the heat of the inflowing vapor, the heat being removed from the exhaust gas flow in a gas-gas heat exchanger and supplied to the vapor feedback. The second drier line includes a heat register, whose heat is extracted from the exhaust gases in a heater, which is arranged directly after the incinerator and reduces the exhaust gas temperature to approximately 500.degree. to 600.degree.. The gas-gas heat exchanger can thus be embodied as a simple sheet metal structure.
