Abstract: A tagged packet carries a tag which is attached to the main body of the packet by a thread. The thread comprises polypropylene so as to be attachable by heat sealing to the body. The body is made up of layers of sheet material also comprising thermoplastic material to allow the body to be closed by heat seals. The thread is secured to the face of the body at one edge at the same time as that edge is heat sealed and the heating for the thread seal is applied from the opposite face of the body whereas the adjacent regions of edge seal spaced from the thread has the heating applied through the first face. This arrangement gives closer control of the different conditions required for securing the thread and for sealing together only the sheet material of the body.

Abstract: Described is a grating plate for a sliding grating for a burned-material cooling unit, the grating plate having, in the surface which holds the materials, a recess (13) in which cooling-air outlets (10) are located and, below the recess, a cooling-air feed space (17). The depth of the recess (13) increases from back to front. The cross-section of the cooling-air feed space (17) decreases correspondingly from back to front in accordance with the change in the cooling-air flow through the space.
Abstract: A composition and method thereof treating or conditioning human skin, hair or nails is described. The composition is topically applied in an effective amount and contains from about 0.0001 to about 50 wt. % of a ceramide derivative containing sphingoid bases having amide, but not ester linkages to a 2 (alpha)-hydroxy carboxylic acid and a safe and effective amount of a pharmaceutical or cosmetically acceptable carrier. The composition effectively treats or conditions areas of fine flakes having histogram values of 10 to 128. Treated areas exhibit a desquamation value difference of 1.0 or greater at day 28 after treatment commences compared to a desquamation value of untreated areas.

Abstract: A process is disclosed for cleaning of a substrate, comprising the steps of (1) adding a molecular oxygen activating system (as defined herein) to an aqueous wash liquor, containing a sufficient amount of molecular oxygen for obtaining observable cleaning, and (2) cleaning the substrate with the thus-formed wash liquor. When using said process, significant substrate cleaning results could even be obtained in the absence of any usually applied active oxygen ingredient such as perborate or percarbonate.

Abstract: A duckbill valve is provided based on a valve seal with a hollow cylindrical body with first and second ends, the first end having an open mouth, the second end having a closable mouth circumscribed by a pair of crescent shaped lips. One of the lips has a thinner width than the other. The cylindrical body flares outward in the direction from the first end towards the second end. In another aspect, the cylindrical body includes a posterior and an anterior section adjacent the respective first and second ends, the anterior section having an outer wall portion curvilinearly tapering toward the thinner lip. Valves of the present invention are particularly suitable for controlling flow of semi-solid substances because the mouth of the duckbill can open to a relatively large extent, the latter being off-center within a round collar fitting.

Abstract: A system is provided for tea service in a modern style teahouse, the latter combining quick service with the ambiance of more traditional quiet seating. A transition area between the quick service public and quiet seating lounge areas holds an inner counter with tea and tea concentrate based product processing devices, an aisle allowing passage for a tea tender and a semi-circular service/information counter. The information counter includes a first and second horizontal countertop parallel to one another joined together by a vertical wall in a step arrangement. A plurality of stools are arranged around the information counter on a side opposite the aisle.
Abstract: Infusion packets have envelopes of heat-sealable material with a looped thread within the packets to wring moisture from the packet in use. A central part of the thread loop is held in a widened region of one edge seal while the ends of the loop project through the opposite edge seal in which they are movable when the loop is to be contracted. The packets are produced by forming a continuous series of thread loops on one elongate web and placing doses of infusion material on a second elongate web before bringing the webs together with the thread loops and infusion material between them. The two webs are then welded together and the individual packets are separated from the joined webs.
